This might push me to the Galaxy and I'm not happy about it.

I currently have the Galaxy S8+, which replaced my iPhone 7+. I have no complaints.

No device is perfect, just choose what works best for you.

Overall, I like the design of the iPhone 8 based upon the dummy.

I find the glossy frame wore than the notch on the front. Especially the silver frame of the white one looks cheap and plasticky.

I agree. The silver version looks awful. White notch, stainless surround and a matt silver back. 3 colours in one phone.....its too much. I have always had white and silver but if that render is correct then I am warming to all black this time

Usually it's just about shortages, which we know to be the case every year. This is the first year where it seems like they're really struggling with a lot of aspects of the device.

Because for a change they moved their ***** to build something new instead of reselling the same basic phone with minor updates for another year. Thats how fragile Apple has become under Tim.

There are so few surprises in life anymore. Why do we have to do this? People work extremely hard to design, manufacture and market these products. They take pride in unveiling them when they are ready. This endeavor of leaking and constantly trying to get ahead of Apple's announcements just completely undercuts the excitement and overall tenor of the whole thing. I won't watch this video and I hope others follow suit. Sounds salty, I know, but whatever.

With the prospective launch date of the new 2017 iPhone models just weeks away, iPhone 8 dummy models, printed mockups, and clones have been circulating regularly, giving us an idea of what to expect with Apple's radically redesigned edge-to-edge OLED iPhone is unveiled.

We got our hands on one of the high-quality iPhone 8 dummy models that's been making the rounds thanks to MobileFun and Olixar, and we've done a hands-on video to give MacRumors readers a close look at the design of the device and how it measures up to existing devices.

Our iPhone 8 dummy is silver, and with the glass backing, it looks almost like a liquid silver. The front features an edge-to-edge panel, and both the front and the back are encased by a stainless steel frame that matches the silver hue of the body.

There are thin silver bezels at the front of the device, and there's also a "notch" that houses the speaker, front-facing camera, and sensors, with this setup being used to enable a new facial recognition feature.

On one side, there's an elongated power button, while the other side houses standard volume buttons and a mute switch. At the bottom, there's a Lightning port and speaker holes, but no headphone jack.

When it comes to size, the iPhone 8 is slightly larger than an iPhone 7 and much smaller than an iPhone 7 Plus, but its display size is similar to the display of the iPhone 7 Plus because it does away with all of the thick bezels. This is a dummy model so it's not a functional unit, but the smooth glass back is believed to enable an inductive charging feature that will let the iPhone 8 work with wireless charging accessories.

The dummy model we have on hand is silver, but there are also dummy models available in a deep black and a sort of copper gold, and we've heard rumors suggesting the iPhone 8 (and the iPhone 7s and 7s Plus) will only launch in three shades - silver, gold, and black.

We can't be 100 percent sure the dummy models we've seen are accurate representations of what we can expect when the iPhone 8 launches, but they match up with leaked factory specifications, part leaks, CAD drawings, and information culled from the HomePod firmware Apple released in late July.

For that reason, we believe the dummy model in the video offers up a clear look at what Apple's iPhone 8 looks like.

I love coming on here and reading all the major butt hurt people have!! makes my day brighter and happier! All you whining about this new phone please don't buy it.... will mean it will be easier for those of us that want it to get one.

Well, Steve jobs released a phone that you couldn't hold or all signal was lost.

Everyone quickly forgot all of apples shortcomings, when Steve was in charge, the moment he died. Everything wrong with apple now and forever is Tim Cooks fault.

There are legitimate reasons for the removal of the 3.5mm jack and we don't know if the new model will even lack the Touch ID sensor like you claim.

Just unwad your panties until September, then don't buy if it's not what you want.
Holy poo!! at least there are 2 of us out there in macrumors land!

soon people will ask Plus size and much bigger screen. imagine iPhone 7 plus size full screen.
I would love to have a phone the size of the 7+ without bezels..... that would be my ultimate apple phone.

I wonder how noticeable it will be for former 6/7 plus owners just how much narrower the iPhone 8 screen is. It might feel like a loss of screen space even though the 8 is supposed to have a bigger screen. I can only speak for myself here, but after using a plus device for so long, a smaller screen is not an option anymore. Would just feel like a downgrade. That's the one thing that puts me off buying the 8, it's screen looks awkwardly narrow next to the 7 plus screen.

I think the copper color is hideous!
then don't buy it. easy solution to your non problem.

its not smaller... it's actually bigger.

I know, my point was that the screen width of the 8 is narrower than the 7 Plus. My worry was that it would make the screen feel less spacious than the Plus models. I saw a photo of the two phones next to each other and measured it, the 8 had a narrower screen than the 7 Plus. The 0.2" inches it has over the 7 Plus really comes from the new aspect ratio, which is all the rage this year.

You're really expecting a revolutionary new design\look? LOL, it's going to be a sad Christmas morning for you in September hehe

My contributions towards Apple date from the time that they were active in design, market leaders in innovation and cried their supremacy in those area's from every corner of the street, everyday.
All the money that they piled up comes from customers that were persuaded by that company profile and those core values. THAT is why they chose fo Apple, THAT's what we bought $14.000 LaserWriters and $15k Mac Pluses for - not for the current crop of lamentating managers, for half-innovation where 80% of thousands of patents never see daylight, for buying Samsung screens and borrowing things from others they used to despise at times they were leading themselves.
Now filling the streets with endless refurb designs in all area's of activity - by lack of design - maybe Tim Cook' priority but not ours.
Now even the 10th anniversary flagship (yes if rumors are true but they are all aligned) has the same 5 year old iPhone 6 casing with a few sharper edges. That's just ludicrous.
The "don't like it...go buy something else" phrases can only come from a few imbeciles that don't understand to whom Apple owes all its wealth from.
Oh and if there is more in life than this - then may I suggest that Apple returns the money now invested in their overcaptialised shopping centers, ApplePark headquarters, Music services, radio stations, artists, selfdriving car-dreams, and other cross-subsidized activities that can't stand on their own.
Happy hiking.
Oy vey!

Are you sure you need Apple in your life?

The pain they seem to inflict on you seems to suggest otherwise.

Just one FYI:
Apple owes you NOTHING!

Using their products since 1984, I have only one regret:
I never had the smarts of buying shares. Would be a multi millionaire by now.
