still not better than Google maps
Currently works way better than Google Maps for me.
still not better than Google maps
Apple may want to tell Apple it puts search bars at the top in most stock apps - just sayin'.I welcome the bottom search bar.
Always found stupid to put it on the top. Take note Google.
I hope this issue gets addressed. At least it's an issue for me.
There seems to be a pretty decent delay in visual update compared to the audio updates.
"Turn right on x street"
I turn then notice on the maps screen that it shows I'm still on the street I've turned from.l and finally shows what street I'm on a few seconds later.
I don't see this in waze or google maps and is pretty much a deal breaker and at least for me almost dangerous.

Apple should've bought waze.
Not sure why Apple still tries to make Apple maps a thing... I only use it because CarPlay doesn't support google maps
Been fine for me... Only time I had issues was some of the rural areas or new buildings but I ran google maps at the same time and it told me to do the same thing.
Guess what. It's never been about software (although the nature and amount of bags in the first version were quite surprising), it's all about data. Here come the Apple Maps suck/I use Google Maps comments...
Guess what? Software improves, it's not 2012 anymore.

Money
Ha ha whatever. I used both and google works and has always worked incredibly better and I think you know that to be fact
I wonder if Apple knows that...Guess what? Software improves, it's not 2012 anymore.
And the fact that Google Maps is Accurate!Sorry, the only thing holding google is street view and the search.
All I want to know is why Maps can't support adding multiple destinations? Why are directions always point A to point B? What if I want to create a route through several places? As I understand it, I'd have to create multiple maps for each intermediate destination like point A to point B then create a new map for point B to point C and so on. There's no way to load it all up at once. I really could have used this feature last week as I drove over 2,000km through maritime Canada and used Apple Maps the entire way. Grrrr.
And the fact that Google Maps is Accurate!
Not at all true but keep drinking the koolaid. And Apple Maps is just as accurate.
You're joking right? Have you actually used and tested both apps frequently in real trips? And Apple Maps is just as accurate.

As a previous commenter wrote, the issue with Apple maps is not the UI, the features, or software - the issue is with the underlying map data.
Google Maps is light years ahead of Apple Maps because they've invested billions in sending cars all over the world every few years to get the latest, most accurate mapping & crowdsourced traffic data. They also crowdsource map updates/corrections using a very streamlined process (updates are reviewed and made by Google within 24 hours and they email you when the update is complete)
I've had Apple Maps take me to several incorrect destinations over the past few years, including the last six months. I've had to use Google Maps as a backup to get me to my real destination on several occasions. After doing this so many times I gave up on Apple Maps because I need reliable POI, mapping, and traffic data.
While I welcome these new Apple Maps features (some of which are adding features Google Maps have had for years like traffic routing), I can't fully adopt or 'fall in love' with Apple Maps until they improve their data dramatically.
I may give Apple maps one last shot in the fall, but if the data isn't as accurate as Google Maps, it'll continue to be garbage despite its delightful UI.
GPS apps are all about data. Accurate data. Good data. Up-to-date data. POI data.
Just ok, but good they are improving it. Nothing beats Waze though.

YMMV. I've submitted several corrections over the years with details about the mapping error-including photographs; that have never been fixed.Did you know you can drop a pin in Apple maps and send feed back. You can help correct these issues for not only yourself but anyone else that lives on your street.
