If it gets macOS like rumored in WWDC i'll either sell my current high-bin m3 pro mbp and get a 1tb 13" with the magic keyboard, or ill use my mbp till its bust, get a m8 iPP 15" in 2028 and get a base m4 11" pro in the meantime
Haven’t seen such a rumor

So.. there's a new Magic Keyboard (aluminum casing, bigger touchpad, etc.) Will the old Magic Keyboard work with the new iPad pros?
Good question, which I had a feeling it may or may not work. Have to research up on that and find out.

Why is nobody able to try the keyboard?

Thinnest product ever? Jonny just got a full Ive-on watching this introduction.

Also, I wonder if the keyboard is now heavier to allow for the function row keys, or if it's just that it's less top-heavy with the lighter device?
Brian Tong says the combination of iPad Pro and new Magic Keyboard is both thinner and lighter than the old combo. He also showed the classic “lift the display with one finger” action, so it looks like the center of mass/gravity is nailed however they accomplished this in an overall thinner and lighter package.

I cannot imagine paying US$1000+ for a device with a 13" screen that somehow has no 3.5mm headphone jack.

In my job I worked with some folks who design software for the placement of components, like inside an iPad. They were understandably cagey about who their clients were, but it was clear that Apple was using something like that. I really think the only reason Apple is obsessed with the thinness of the device is that it's even harder for small manufacturers to match than it is for Apple. Their comparative advantage.

Surely this was the year to add fans and give an M4 Pro/Max chip? It’s a pro machine, why does it have the same power as a MacBook Air?

Some are - Brian Tong was showing it - several others too
He just showed it, he didn’t actually type on it. I want to know what the typing experience is like and what the viewing angles are like. Is it similar to the existing Magic Keyboard?

So, no bigger screen, higher price for storage options and also thinner (interested to see how long it will be until we get recalls because of the shrinking)

I was laughing at Tim reporting how the MBA is the best selling 13" Laptop right now. Of course, he is not going to state that this is likely not the M3 edition. And then right afterwards we get the unveiling of M4, almost as a kick in the teeth for anyone who bought M3 🤣

iPad Pro + New Magic Keyboard + Pro Pencil = $2,000
Great count me in, for the same price of a full macOS experience Laptop
Include the equivalent storage for the Laptop (1TB being the optimal spec) and you have an iPad Pro for $2.5K
Gone are the days of purchasing tech on the spot, the future is payment plans and data contracts for the regular consumer

Even the iPad Air in the larger screen is 1K if you want that new Pencil to accompany it

so honest question here....if Apple can make this iPad so thin with 16Gb ram and 2 TB hard drive and logic board in it....why can't we have touchscreen on a MacBook?
