so its like your hobby is to travel and have utilitarian SUV but you wonder why you should buy an 2 doors sports car...
Is not like Apple just makes only one product
No its like my hobby is to play football and Apple wants to sell me a great pair of trainers, that I'd really like, ones that would actually be awesome for playing football in as well, and cost as much as pro football boots, and then Apple wants to forbid me from kicking balls with these trainers, so I cant actually use them for football.

These amazing shoes that would be -perfect- for football, and cost sooo much money, have to sit on the shelf, while I buy another set of pretty much the same shoe from Apple, which I am allowed to play football in.

To top it off, these football-approved boots even use the same key parts as the football-forbidden ones, like literally the same parts. I had to buy the same thing twice, because...?

Thats how frustrating it is. And why I don't have the boots, or macbook/new IPAD.

Thinest product ever! < no one asked for this

Thin = light.

A lot of people disliked the weight of the big iPad Pro. I personally love mine, but it's not exactly comfortable for reading in bed, for example. I am looking forward to the reduced weight.

Alo, it's cool. People may have not asked for it, but they are going to like it. It feels cutting edge.

Except one common complaint of the previous generation magic keyboard and iPad combination was that they were heavier than the MacBook Air.
So yes, someone clearly asked for this.

If it gets macOS like rumored in WWDC i'll either sell my current high-bin m3 pro mbp and get a 1tb 13" with the magic keyboard, or ill use my mbp till its bust, get a m8 iPP 15" in 2028 and get a base m4 11" pro in the meantime
It is not rumored to get macOS.

well the first Gen was thin, thinner than second and third, I suppose since they've dumped the mini LED they can make it thin again, not much of sales pitch though.........
The thinnest were the 2018 and 2020 at 5.9 mm. The new 13” is ~14% thinner and 9% lighter, which is enough to be quite noticeable, even moreso compared to the thicker and heavier 2021.

Wow, a lightweight ipad! Almost like they made a powerful iPad that could actually be used as a mobile device. If only they had one a bit smaller that could fit in a back pocket of a pair of work pants, jacket pocket or handbag. Like a miniature iPad. They could call it the iPad Small Sized Lightweight Conveniently Mobile One.

looks underwhelming and the decently specced 11" starts at $1600 ahahahahahahahahahaha

For the LOLs I priced-up a 512GB with keyboard and it's more or less the same price as a discounted 14" MacBook Pro M3 Pro 18/512. For half a laptop with one IO port and a Mickey Mouse operating system. Oh Apple. Bye bye 👋

I wonder how long it will take for people to give up on this "rumor". It's obvious Apple has no intention of doing this, and I think they are correct not to. However, if I'm wrong, I'd be more than fine with it, since that would basically give us Macbooks with 4:3 ratio screens. I'd never buy another Mac, I'd always buy iPads. 16:9 and 16:10 screens are so outdated and dumb... it's like hitting your head on a low ceiling.

I still don’t see a reason to upgrade my 2018 11 inch Pro. Perfectly fine for media consumption and web browsing. I don’t need OLED or 1000 nits for YouTube.
You're joking right? I mean that monster's an embarrassing 5.9mm thick, I'm not sure I could even hold it, never mind get through doorways and stuff with it.

Everyone is mocking the thinness of the new iPad Pros, but for me, this is a welcomed design change as my current 12.9" M1 iPad Pro with the Magic Keyboard feels thicker and heaver than my 13" MacBook Air.

Agree. Bending questions aside, reduction in thickness and weight is welcomed.

iPad OS 18 will be the decision for upgrading or not.
I would not jump on immediate upgrade until reviews and the new OS comes up.
Otherwise it’s just another killer machine running on a joke OS.
Whatever people say, iPad could be so much more with a proper OS..

I still don't get why everyone wants to use an iPad as a MacBook? Like, if you want a laptop, get a Laptop. Use the iPad for iPad things. It runs a different OS for a reason.
