The power button on a Galaxy S4 is opposite the camera shutter button, so that it's difficult not to hold both when taking a picture in landscape mode, and therefore turn the thing off every time you take a photo! It looks a bit like the same thing is happening here, when using the volume button as a shutter. Bad ergonomics.

Also, I like being able to sit my iphone 5 on its side. Not going to work on his thing. Going back to rounded edges is a step back.

Sale or no sale, when you put em together, it really shows how little has been done to the body. 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, 5 and 5S milked it all the way through. Like a grandma with different makeup on. *SMH*

Eagerly waiting for iPhone 6!

According to the alleged design, the new sleep/wake button is in fact directly opposite the volume up button. Could be an issue when using it as shutter, but feels like you should be able to shift your thumb over pretty easily to avoiding hitting power.

If it weren't for the screen size difference you almost wouldn't be able to tell the 2008 iPhone from the 2014 iPhone

gross, they are copying Samsung for no effing reason

I don't care about a giant screen, that doesn't fit in my pocket

and has terrible battery life because it has a humongous LCD

make one smaller that lasts weeks without charging!

I think Apple may have already solved the one-hand issue: with iOS 7 and the slide back gesture. Integrating it into the OS a year before the iPhone 6 launch ensures everyone already knows how to make use of the gesture.

I have an android phone set up like that and was constantly accidentally engaging the power button. I have another android phone with power just above the volume buttons and it is just as awful there. It's a huge problem when putting the phone in a dashboard mount too. Power button should ALWAYS be on top -- anywhere else is guaranteed constant accidental presses.

I think I've found the answer... you make the power button COMPLETELY separate from the phone.

OMG what is this the 80's?! I don't want to hold a brick up to my face to talk on the phone! How is this going to fit into anyone's pants!? People will look like dolts handling a phone that large! Phandroids can have their phablets!

*Takes photos at public events with iPad*

*Puts iPad mini into suit pocket*

Perhaps Apple could offer a range of Mobile phone sizes to appeal to different customers preferences, like say Samsung?

No one other than Apple is stopping them doing that and giving their customers choice.

Uh, looks too large compared to iPhone 5S. I can't see how one hand use can be comfortable. Way too big for small clutch purse to go for a night out during dinners or shows wearing a nice dress. Too big for suit pockets. I hope the current size doesn't go away and is available with whatever new specs comes out with the oversized models.

The real news is the iPhone 6 won't be made from sapphire, but 3D printed! Printolutionary!

That's actually a really good idea! No more standing in long lines. Just order the phone you want online and then 3D print it out, circuits and all!

"The iPhone 6 is completely, unapologetically ABS."

1334 pix home screen

Regarding an additional row of icons, I propose a fix to how the icons might be spaced more correctly on such a screen:

This looks more apple-like, especially applied to a render.

I agree. The perfect iphone would be iPhone 5 size with no bezels at all. The home button is outdated at this point - all of its functions could be software implemented. It just takes up space now.
