Your metaphors are really hard to get, indeed. The only thing I got from your post is that Apple is not "looking for products to sell". I think Apple shareholders should be concerned.

Honestly it's just a funny post (thus the mixed metaphors) but I do feel sorry for Samsung and the people who buy them. As a company they really are a company no one loves and few like. And mostly the people who like them are employed in some dumb sales role for them. But if you like shilling for Korean companies that steal technology - be my guest.

Not only that he's trying to insinuate that FaceID is way more secure actually. His only proof is his opinion that 3D>2D and thta's about it.

at least he is bringing facts and links to the table.. you are just bringing opinions and Samsung propaganda... same ones over and over. I don't even think you believe it yourself. Just want to keep the troll going.

Dude like shut up,

Thanks for being so polite, really proves your point: 1. We are right because we really want to be, 2. If you disagree: shut up. I’m done with this, this clearly hurt your feelings. Enjoy your Iris scans, guys, believe it’s better than Face ID and enjoy finding reasons why all those articles saying otherwise are wrong or lies.

Display damage? I can't read it anymore

I understand that for some Samsung fans it may be difficult to accept, but for really important things (like payments) on Samsung Galaxy phones, the Iris scanner is used exclusively (face recognition is used just for added security after the Iris scan) and this Iris scanner is less secure than a 3D topographical scan. Face recognition is even less secure. It’s 3d face map > finger print > iris > facial recognition.

But, as I said, believe what you will. Samsung is the best at everything. Sure, Apple invested gazillion of dollars and several years into Face ID because they weren’t able to put an ordinary infrared camera on their phone. Yes, because that was harder to do.

Do you have any links to confirm your statements? Here is a comment from an expert (Biometric Technology Products & Solutions Analyst) comparing the merits of fingerprint and iris scanners which clearly shows that your claim is bogus:

Iris scanning is literally the best method for biometric identification. The technology is even more accurate than using fingerprint identification, which can sometimes be hard to identify after many years of certain kinds of manual labor that may affect the hands.

Why iris recognition technology is not more popular, is because of the initial installation cost which is higher than a fingerprint or a finger vein recognition system. But with government agencies like border control or low enforcement, iris biometrics is gaining popularity. In some airports around the world, iris scanners and recognition technology are already being used as well as in certain military bases where quick, dependable identification is critically important.

Some of the main uses for iris scanning today include aviation security and regulating access to airport’s restricted areas, passport substitutions, computer logins, database access, ‘watch list’ border crossing screenings and control of access to certain premises.

Because iris recognition is still somewhat new in terms of technology, the concept and the industry are still evolving. Through the commitment and determination of government assessments and the iris industry itself, progress and general growth is very likely to continue to develop.

And because no one cracked S8 iris scanner, you know it's better than Face ID? How, exactly?

BTW, they did hack the scanner on Note 8 if I remember correctly. But even if they didn't, the tech itself is more prone to trickery.

No, it's the opinion of security experts. Why does this bother you so much?

And Face ID has been fooled by other family members.

Doesn’t Samsung use Google’s Android? Isn’t Google now cooperating with the Chinese government to facilitate surveillance, tracking and censoring of its search activities?? If so, why would anyone want anything to do with an Android-based phone?

Store these phones out of your pockets. In their desperation to beat Apple who knows if the battery will explode or not?

well at least you listed your source.... an anonymous opinion on another forum.. I'm convinced, because everything on the internet is true.

"Isn’t Google now cooperating with the Chinese government to facilitate surveillance, tracking and censoring of its search activities??"

surveillance? - no
tracking? - no
censoring? - yes

"why would anyone want anything to do with an Android-based phone?"

Simple. Censorship is a fact of life in China and it has nothing to do with Android. Both iPhones and Android phones are subject to exactly the same censorship in China (but not in other countries).

BTW, the search engine on your iPhone is Google (in case you didn't know).

My bad then. Still, it’s less secure and less advanced than Face ID.
Errr no, Iris scanning is by far the most secure biometric method available today. FaceId is faster and more convenient but not as secure. Its also more secure then Fingerprint scanners.

$1,000 base model, huh? I remember a year ago when the iPhone X was announced to have a $1,000 price tag. Wonder how many Samsung fans were scoffing at Apple and making fun of anyone they thought dumb enough to buy a thousand-dollar phone.

Now they’re all keeping their mouths shut.

Absolutely premium and gorgeous devices. If there's ever a device that can command a premium price, it's the Note 9. Without question. Wow.
And Samsung still has the best watch and OS for watch. That's how a watch should look. Not some dinky little square kids toy. Battery for days and days.

Posting after happy hour tonight. ;)

Biggest difference here is that the Note 9 actually has hardware/software/features/design/functionality/and premium display/sizes to match that price tag. Argue all you want, iPhone X is not worth its price tag.

Also note this is macrumors not samsungrumors. You will have the herd mentality defending apple's halo product till death and no matter what realistic features and functions the note 9 offers that makes the iPHone X look overpriced, the herd here will defend it with their life.

Move on and enjoy your note 9 because millions will. These "features" and "designs" will not appeal to apple buyers; they will hate it and mock it and say it sucks but until their beloved apple phone implements the same thing 3 years later they will then rave and swear it's the holy grail.

Rinse and repeat it's always the same from apple fanatics.

PS - Galaxy watch is a hit - every since the S2 revisions, it has become a real nice watch. Compared to an apple watch, the apple watch is the most hideous square toy watch in existence. Not only that, it doesn't even have MST. let's not forget about samsung pay MST. If you don't understand the significance of just that feature alone, you stick with your apple products.

THE ONLY REASON TO BUY AN OVERPRICED APPLE PRODUCT IS THAT APPLE STANDS BY THEIR PRODUCTS BAR NONE. This is the reason millions are willing to fork over their cash. I will say this: Samsung support for their tech devices especially their watch/phones are the worse in the industry. This I have experienced first hand over and over again. If anything samsung should copy it should be how apple handles customer care and actually gives a shnt about their customers first and foremost.

I know I'll get a lot of negativity for saying this, but even with all these features, I can't shake the feeling that Samsung is designing each of the many features in their phones while obsessing over Apple in some way.

I'm not convinced of this anymore. Apple kicked things off many years ago, but I believe they are losing ground as the innovator and leader in the mobile space. For Apple, the focus is remains on aestehtrics rather than function, and it seems the market is growing tired of that. There is a palpable shift toward a desire for getting more form a $1,000 phone than a piece of art that serves as an app repository and music player.

Having said that, there is zero chance I'm paying for a $1,000 Note 9 either. The $1k+ price tag on the iPhone X got me looking around in the first place. Luckily, after a few months, the Note 9 deals will start showing up.

I actually like the Samsung Gear watches alot. I had one when I had a Android phone for a several months, when changing back to iphone, i still wore the watch.

Their Samsung pay was far superior to Apple watch because i can use it places that use a magnetic strip. It came handy multiple times.

So much for a civilized discussion about what other companies are bringing out which may influence future products. Some in here sound so petulant.

Back on topic - I actually prefer the look of an Samsung's smart watches. If apple ever releases a round watch, it will be a day one purchase for me as long as im still using an iphone.

The docking functionality can be really useful workwise. Samsung should have made this phone be able to run a more robust OS when in dex mode to increase productivity.

Edit - I quickly noticed after watching some hands on videos of the note 9 that the forehead bezel is taller than the chin bezel. If that's the case, its no better than the notch in terms of visual appeal imo.

All those great features on a new phone...but yet no new OS. That is why I will never go back to a non Google phone. I want to make sure I get the lastest OS for my 1000 dollar product and not wait till 6 months after it is out and get it full of carrier bloatware.

That has got to be the freaking ugliest watches I have ever seen. Suppose to be round, says you? I would say many disagree.. you can't see as much on the screen with a round watch face. Better OS that is funny! You are regular jokester aren't you? RTOTFLOL
