Or you could install Linux, if that works for what you need.yeah but the LG runs windows so...... nope
stop saying "we"... its I, me, you, your. The article's byline is an individual, not a group of people nor an indication of a collaborative effort.
No Hackintoshing?Or you could install Linux, if that works for what you need.
If you already don’t even want a 15” then larger laptops aren’t for you. Why exactly did you feel the need to piss on the prospects of people who actually DO want one??
Lots of us actually do want a larger laptop, and we consider the “smaller at all costs” trends very limiting. I had a 17” laptop. I used it as a laptop and it was great. A desktop is only useful if you’re not planning to be mobile. Do you actually not grasp that?
I was going to say it might depend on whether you're left or right handed, but it's dependant on which hand you mainly use for the trackpad. It's a full size keyboard with number pad on the right. This offsets the remainder of the keyboard to the left inside the case. Meaning the typewriter keys are no longer centered in relation to the trackpad. Makes me wonder how awkward that would be in usage.
Good luck finding another believer to buy that. Hopefully something actually good will come out before the 2018s start failing en masse. Plus, I think you're putting too many wishes in one basket, but here's hoping.I still have my old 17" MBP and appreciate its keyboard, matte screen coating, and lack of (godawful) Touch Bar. Back then the matte screen was still an option you could custom-order from Apple.com, I wish they'd bring that back!
If Apple made a new 16.5" MBP with matte screen, better keyboard, and NO TOUCHBAR then I'd definitely sell my current mid-'18 15" MBP.
Nobody who wants the return of the BIG Mac cares about your peurile observations. Are you one of design team?Since you missed the part where I said "I would" speaking of myself and apparently want me to weigh in on it for all. There's nothing mobile about a 17" laptop. It takes up too much space and is intrusive. Look at all the dead space around the keyboard. It's fugly and you look ridiculous with it. It's like people that wear size 15 shoes but their feet are really only 10s. You look like a clown.
You sold it? Damn. I still use mine and will till it's non repairable, but also got the maxed out 2015 also on refurb last year, which will have to suffice till there's a sensible replacement that turns up on refurb. Even then, I can't bear the thought of paying so much for an appliance with a non replaceable drive. I'm looking forward to sticking 4TB in the 2015 for less then 1 AppleTB.I'd definitely be interested to see if Apple does a larger screen model. I clung to my 17" late 2011 MBP until 2017. It was a great machine and I loved the matte display. In the end, what really pushed me to a new mac was the release of the 2016 machines. By then, I accepted that 17" was not coming back and I wanted to get a 2015 model in the refurbished store before it was too late, given the drastic change in direction Apple took. The maxed out 2015 model was still popping up from time to time in early 2017, so I jumped on it on that. The 17" MBP models (at least 2 years ago) really had strong resale value. There was a demand for them, clearly, given what I sold mine for. I suspect the same could be the case for my 2015 MBP, if I do part ways with it in the near future.
Seeing there is so little Apple stuff to review, what ya gunna do?So confused about this site lately with these non-Mac reviews![]()
Apple may be planning to introduce a 16 to 16.5-inch MacBook Pro in the future.

I still have a 17” which I use in my RV when traveling to Art Shows so for me it’s used primarily as a travel desktop. Would love to replace it with something similar. Been hoping for a new 17”.
2 or 3 different versions. You don’t remember?I owned 2 or 3 different versions of the 17" MacBook Pro and with each one I was bitterly disappointed Apple never included a numeric pad (it used the same keyboard as their 13" model and it just looked comical on the 17" version). I'd definitely buy a bigger screen MacBook Pro if it came out - but not if it has that disgusting butterfly keyboard...
I think it's kind of a nice article and video, actually. Sort of a "what-if," postulating on what Apple might do with their potentially upcoming 16" (?) machine, and how they can take a design hint from other manufacturers in making their new model successful, should they choose to do so.Slow day at Macrumors?
I know others have commented on this as well, but skimming, I didn't see mention of what I'm about to note, so I'll shoot in a reply too.
It's called the editorial we. The editorial we is actually a singular we used when an individual speaks on behalf of a publication.
