That explanation makes no sense as Apple cases have been bottomless since iPhone 6.
I guess you can refer to the second part of my post then. It is also easier to get the case on/off without the bottom being covered.

Been loving mine so far. :)

I wonder if using an Apple Case would better an argument for Apple repair if you dropped the phone? I suppose not as they don't make protection claims do they?

All clear cases end up scratched, scuffed and looking like #$@. Do not want.

Why is everyone suddenly outraged about the price of their cases? They have always been $40 for silicone and $50 for leather. This isn't new....

Apple's $39 silicone case has a velour interior, Apple logo, and is available in a dozen colors. This XR clear case is basically a third-party product with Apple pricing.

I can’t be the only one who finds the open bottom on the Apple cases uncomfortable. The location of the opening is in the perfect spot to uncomfortably dig into my finger while holding the phone one handed. That said keep going back to my Apple leather case because the rest of the fit and feel is so much nicer.

IMO - the bumper was apple’s best case design.

£45 in the uk for this! Hahahaha. That’s almost $57 US.

It was bad enough when Apple decided £1=$1 in their online store let alone this absolute p**s take.

Considering this case is absolute garbage and worth about $1 max apple have really lost the plot now.

I had a xiaomi redmi pro. The official Xiaomi clear transparent TPU case was $2.99 delivered. It was extremely high quality and shows Apple are charging way too much.

People are forgetting the design and engineering cost that went into this case.

In before someone else brings it up.

Do you mean like every other case manufacturer has to do, but somehow can still design, manufacture, ship for a 10th of the price and still apparently make a reasonable profit?

My Torras clear case for the Product Red Xr only costs me $11. No way would I pay $40 for anything that wasn't like a heavy duty Otterbox. Apple has some crazy people working at selling these things.

I hate how their cases are always open at the bottom. I have one for my iPhone XS Max and its already scratched at the bottom exactly where the opening is. I assume debris went in there and moved up and down. Kind of defeats the purpose of a case!

I want to know who at Apple hates protecting the bottom of the iPhone and why? This is the dumbest thing about all of their otherwise excellent cases.

I didn't care about this bare spot at all until Halloween night, when my 1 week old XS Max hit the curb with force exactly in that spot and cracked the screen all to heck. I was using Apple's silicone case.

I've vowed not to get another Apple case going forward. I want protection all around the device (while still being thin and lightweight). Their silicone case is entirely too grippy anyway. That was part of the reason I dropped the phone - I was struggling to get it out of my pocket to take a photo of my daughter. I was wearing a robe costume. It flipped out of my hand and hit the curb hard.

At least this one isn't grippy, but it still lacks protection there and costs too much. I can get clear TPS cases on Amazon for $10 that are more protective.
