You've missed my point.

Please research it a bit more so you know why I am saying that. And no, it doesn't give peace of mind. Quite the opposite. There is a lot of articles or videos with professional doctors talking specifically about the ECG on the AWatch. I wanted to buy the watch just for this. Then I did my research and changed my mind completely. I would advise you to do your research also so you understand why I said what I said.

You are most likely going to reach the same conclusion once you invest the time to educate yourself more on the topic. I certainly had. I went from 'instant buy' to 'not there yet'
You stated that the ECG feature is a “marketing gimmick”, and I disagree with you. What point did I miss?

If the feature isn’t useful for you, that is fine. And like you, there are doctors that have their own opinion of this or anything related to heath — it doesn’t mean they’re right. After a heart episode of mine, my previous doctor did some tests and told me I’m fine enough to run a marathon the next day. He was dead wrong, and yet he was still considered a doctor.

In the end, it doesn’t sound like it’s for you — and that’s fine. But that doesn’t mean the feature is useless to anyone else on the planet.

I don’t think the aluminum looks cheap, in person, but looks are subjective of course. For reference, I use a sport band and one of the newer faces on my Series 5 in aluminum. I had the Series 0 and 2 in space grey and wanted something different so went with Aluminum this go around. View attachment 955395
Yeah nah sorry but the silver aluminum does look quite cheap ‘n’ nasty, also that watch is too big for your wrist.

Kind of strange you don't get ECG on the SE. I have a series 4. I see no need to upgrade - which is not a knock on the new Apple Watch. Really, this is ideal; new buyers get the latest and greatest bells and whistles, but those who are a year or two behind don't feel left in the dust.

I agree with your sentiment but if a lot of doctors and professionals say the same thing then who is right?
So yeah, I will believe them as all the points they've raised, explained etc. are valid and make sense. You are not even going to try to hear the other side and that is ok. I find it not constructive but thats your choice.
As I said myself. I wanted to buy day 1, I researched it more and through that I've discovered that its 'marketing gimmick'. So I went from one opinion to another just because I have RESEARCHED the topic. You refuse to so enjoy your blanket of security whilst I'll enjoy mine. Simple as that.

Some people just don't want to hear the other side of the coin so yeah, lets leave it then.

Not watching the video, will be a bunch of sitting on the fence comments then will end with. What do you think? Post in the chat below.

Just replaced my S4 with the S6. I went for the AOD and new colors. Blue Alum with blue solo loop is a great combo!

Coming from an OG to this Series 6. Was really looking forward to always on. Is it always this slow adjusting dim on a wrist raise though? This is difficult to get used to.....

Thanks for that. I’m really trying to get a feel for how bright the “always on“ is. The S5 was so dim that I couldn’t really see any benefit to it when I compared it to my S4 in an Apple store a year ago. This seems a little better (even if it’s a bit slow to pop on)

I simply don’t find the Series 6 a compelling upgrade for anyone with a Series 5 especially, because we have AoD and the current form factor, and even people with the Series 4. I think the Series 6 is less compelling to upgrade over the Series 5 than the Series 5 was over the Series 4. I think it’s a great upgrade for Series 3 and up users.

That’s the whole point.

The majority of iPhone users still don’t have Apple watches, many are on older watches like series 3 or 4 and the series 6 represents a solid update for them. The number of series 5 users who would upgrade anyways would be in the minority given that their existing watch is barely a year old, so it makes zero sense trying to market to this last demographic.

Apple’s Apple Watch lineup this year makes perfect sense in this context.

As a person that had a series 5 (recently sold) the series 6 AoD appears to be much better than the series 5, even though both screens have 1,000 nits brightness with normal screen use.

I totally agree. I responded with my thoughts about the lack of appeal simply in the context of coming from a Series 4 or Series 5. Reviews always push the latest like they’re substantial upgrades from previous generations of products and that’s simply not the case. The tech has matured.

Planning to buy S5 GPS 44mm (₹35990) to accompany my iPhone 11. But the prices are almost the same to SE Cellular 44mm (₹36990) Confused if I should go for SE which is obviously better value or wait for further S5 price drops.

S2 still going strong. Keen to upgrade but see no reason to. Only use for time, workouts, steps/stands, which S2 does perfectly well. Time does fly can't believe it's 4 years already on S2. Maybe next year?

I can one up you bruh. My series 0 going strong 5+ years later.

Even had Apple replace it with a refurbished model at around the 3.5 year mark for free when it broke.

Yes it does everything you've described, but the interface is so slow. Responding to touches and launching apps is very painful.

When dat dere wrist tattoo messes with your O2 readings.

Gotta say I’m loving how good this blue looks. I was somewhat nervous from the shots others were posting earlier but in person it is a much darker blue and looks fantastic. If the new iPhones come in this color I know what I’m ordering.

I’m very happy with the blue AW6 with blue standard strap. I’ve stuck with the space grey for all my Apple devices for ten years and this is a nice change. The moment it booted up I noticed the brighter screen. Having heart disease and carrying four stents around in my heart I find having access to the ECG and now the blood oxygen sensor adds some reassurance. I’ve no complaints and am happy to have upgraded from S5.

I’ll probably order the blue silicon band.
