maybe it'll be like the sopranos finale, nothing happens and they listen to some journey

.... don't stop believin'

and somewhere in there ... the word "SUCKERS" appears ...

What do you mean nothing happened?

The guy in the hat shot tony. It never blacked out on mine. You should bitch out your cable company.

SUCKERS

I am trying to stay off as many sites as possible to avoid spoilers. I'm excited and I'll be there at 7am my time when its released. :)

I'd strongly recommend being extremely cautious what you read online between now and the release date, particularly on things like message boards.

The book has been leaked in its entirety and spoilers are starting to pop up online. Last time around, many people went around posting the big surprises of the book just to spoil others. I expect it to happen again and wouldn't be surprised if people are doing it already with this one - fortunately I haven't encountered anything I didn't know already.

Be warned! If you really don't want to be spoiled, stay away from message boards, especially threads about Potter. At this point "predictions" may be people posting actual spoilers.

Harry will wake up and realize it was all a dream.
Having read the whole book online ;) I can say you're almost there: Harry wakes up and realizes its all a dream, he's still 10 years old and living under the stairs, and a letter arrives from Hogwarts, except when he opens it, the letter is blank. This is followed by 7 blank pages in the book, and at the bottom of the last is written "The End."

Or was it, the letter arrives from Hogwarts, and it turns out Hogwarts is really a correctional institution for the mentally deranged and Harry's being sent there by the Dursley's?

Actually, though, a few more predictions did come to mind this week:

* Is everyone here simply assuming RAB is Sirius' brother?

* The "gleam of triumph" in Dumbledore's eyes at the end of Book 4, when he learns Voldemort used Harry's blood in his resurrection: My theory is that this is what actually fulfilled the prophecy in book 5 ("Voldemort will mark him as an equal...") and as such, Harry will either be able to successfully avoid being killed by Voldemort with the killing curse, or, the curse will again rebound on Voldemort himself.

* Dumbledore's portrait will be of assistance to Harry somehow.

* Also, JKR said back in 1999 that Harry won't be the teacher at Hogwarts (I forgot this), so I retract this part of my earlier prediction about who will be the teacher - leaving Luna or Neville as the main contenders IMHO.

Maybe I am missing the humor here...Are you serious?

Of course not.

As I posted earlier, I gave up any attempt to read any of the purported copies online. This is just drawing from the Sopranos and the ending of Stephen King's Dark Tower series and kludging them together.

Lol OK good. I HATE spoilers. I didn;t even read what you wrote, just clipped and replied haha.

Did I mention I HATE spoilers. More than anything!

Particularly when some of the stuff being posted about Deathly Hallows is patently ridiculous, and makes no sense in the context of the rest of the series.

There was a Battlestar Galactica episode in which Adama says what makes the Cylon Leoben dangerous is that he mixes truth with lies - I have no doubt there's kernels of truth in all the crap online, but the context in which they're being presented is so wrong they make no sense. This is one of the reasons why I gave up trying to find any answers online - we'll know what we're supposed to know when we're supposed to know it, you know?

Do Not Read the NYT Review

As it states, DO NOT READ THE NY TIMES REVIEW. There it was, right with the morning paper.

I read it, and now have to pull out of all discussion of HP - I'm deleting my subscriptions to both the MR Deathly Hallows threads.

Don't tell me they put spoilers in the NYT Review?:(

I read it online and finished last night.

Don't worry, I won't ruin it for you guys, but I will say that it was an excellent book.:)
