There might be subtle differences you might miss depending on how attentive you are to the details. You can buy the phone and have two weeks to return it. IMO, it depends if screen is your first must-have priority. If so what has your experience been like? I saw the XR in store and I didn't think it looked too bad. That being said, I'm not sure how comfortable I am going from an OLED display (s8) to the XR.

I think I’ve gone on and on about my choice to go from max to xr. Still have the max but keeping it for nostalgia sake. Love the xr. It’s comfortable to hold. I use it everyday. I don’t have to take the phone out of my pocket because it’s uncomfortable to sit in. Screen quality doesn’t seem noticeable though some here disagree. I would google the xr reviews and see what people say. Reviewers on YouTube seem to agree the screen isn’t a huge difference.
Personally I came from a Note 8 and I only notice a minor difference in some youtube videos. Other than that the Xr's screen looks great to me.If so what has your experience been like? Err what? My co worker has a XR and you can clearly tell. Not enough to cry over it but yes. Colors aside the resolution is what you notice
My wife has an XR and I have an XS Max... I literally cannot tell the difference between the 2 screens... Other than a true black background in a dark room, they look exactly the same to me.
They don’t though
...to you. And to a lot of other people. But accept that to some folks (such as the person you replied to) the difference is negligible.
Personally, I can see the difference - but only if I make an effort. I understand that I'm in the minority on this, at least on this forum.
There is a factual difference . If it’s important to you that’s different but you can clearly tell the difference between a screens resolution with the XS max 1200P + screen and a 720p+ screen that’s only a few centimeters difference.
If the XR had a 1080P screen I would of suggested it and maybe would of considered it if I needed to replace my X. At 720P I wouldn’t even consider it in 2019. My options would be a used X or just buy a XS
Re: the bolded - no, you can't make that generalization.
Sure, there is certainly a factual difference in specification. However, I'm saying that many people cannot perceive a difference. Just because you're able to easily distinguish between 1080p and 828p doesn't mean that everyone can. While it's a minority opinion, I've seen that statement repeated across this forum. Do you think bigjnyc is lying?
It’s not a generalization but factual.
No it's not. Do you honestly think every person in this world has identical vision? Of course not. While there is a difference, you can't say everyone can see it when clearly there are those who can't. Continuing to speak for everyone doesn't change this fact. We all get the difference on paper. But not every notices it in real life usage.
It’s not a generalization but factual. You can telll the difference between 1080p and 720 and this is 1220 to 720p
I don’t see a difference. Maybe there is, but not in MY eyes. But of course you speak for everyone so you must be right.
There is a factual difference if you care or not is your problem then.
