1. We are not comparing SOC.
2. This is not siding with apple against all sensible opinion.
3. 58 fps is infinitely closer to the magical 60fps when compared to 47fps. The only reason there is a difference in fps is the difference in resolution. Hence higher resolution has an co-related resources cost.
4. It is possible to run 1080p, just not optimal as I had expressed in my earlier post. Especially when the visual difference is negligible to most people.

I think my last post was pretty straight forward from an engineering point of view.

Why don’t you systematically explain why you feel 1080p is better since you feel so strongly about it.

Because it looks like crap in 2019? The A12 runs the XS max at 47 but at 1080P it would higher. Much closer to 60 then 47. Any video you watch would be 720P and then upscale to 800p . Either way 1080p or no thanks. Even besides this argument sales is still lackluster so either way the XR is an overall disappointment. At $750 it’s basically buying the shiny Apple logo

1. Again to most people the visual difference is negligible. This is base on actually research.
2. If you read my previous post you would understand that for 1080p the XR would have to render at XS Max resolution after which it has to down sample to 1080p. This was the implementation on all the plus size iPhones. Another words 1080p “on screen” would be the same or more likely lower than 47 fps.
3. I can clearly choose 1080p in youtube, netflix on the other hand manages to do it in a way that does not degrade the watching experience on the iPhone XR. Another words, to most people there is no perceivable difference.
4. I am observing a pattern here. Instead of focusing on why you genuinely believe that 1080p is a better option you seem to be going off course on SOCs and claiming I have an Apple bias and now sales figures(even though the only certain thing is that the XR is the best selling model currently). No offence but It almost seems like you are using deflection instead of focusing on the topic. Could it be you don’t really know why you want the iPhone XR at 1080p?

You have an Apple biased heck this whole website IS Apple biased in of itself. It is 2019 and I am not going to buy a phone with an inferior resolution which you can clearly tell. 1080p is pushing it but passable. Sorry I value my money and don’t buy phones because of the shiny logo on the back. I like my iPhone because it’s the best phone for me. If it happens to be an Android phone I’ll go buy it.

Ok? V1 works fine? The XR is an overpriced iPhone at $750. I’m getting emails almost on the daily from Apple suggesting I get a XR for $500 with trade in and now it’s going to $18.99 a month if you trade in an iPhone 7 . They are obviously looking for people to buy the new XR.

I also would rather spend $1,000 on a XS with V2 then save $300 some odd for a XR. If price matters then I would get a X over a XR. I am stuck with the Apple ecosystem for now with my AirPods and watch but I am not going to buy a substandard phone because it has the Apple logo on it. I would actually just get a 8 plus over the XR

Once you go v2 fid on a iphone and iPad you can’t look at a home button. I had 2 iPX screen was terrible on both, and fid is average.

You have the worst iPhone since the 6, you can’t be too hard to please.

The extra screen size, better battery, better call quality/ reception and speaker makes up for oled difference on a small X screen.

Lol, so everyone that has a phone bigger than the X is in trouble then. It must be school holidays?

Well if someone paid $700Aud for a Xr and someone $1579 for a X or $1629 for a XS, who has to do the justifying?
Not me :)

1. Sorry most people can’t clearly tell. As has been observed by much of this community and more tellingly by the extensive research that Apple has done. 326 PPI is the magic number. Human eye sight is not going to dramatically improve to the point that it invalidate the research any time soon.
2. Unless Apple has intentions to use the iPhone as part of a VR set, aka Samsung Gear VR, 326PPI will still be the golden rule. As long as people still use their iPhones at a comfortable distance from their faces, there will be no discernible difference for most people between 326PPI and anything higher.
3. I am glad you like your iPhone. From what I gather, it is an iPhone X. Congrats it’s a great phone. No idea why you would feel so antagonize by the iPhone XR. For those who prefer a higher resolution there is the iPhone XS/XS max. No one is forcing you to buy an iPhone XR right? So why not let people buy what they like?

Ok? How was Face ID average? What are you comparing this to? I mean, in terms of authentication and biometric security strong hold with 3-D facial mapping, It’s far better than ‘average’.
