I currently have the 6 Plus. I was thinking about upgrading to the 6s Plus.

Can anyone tell me their experience and whether or not there are significant benefits?

Is it worth the upgrade?

Thanks.

Wasn't worth it for me:

- 6S Plus is faster but also noticeably heavier.
- reception is much worse on my carrier
- it gets a lot hotter than the 6 Plus

"Worth" is a very subjective opinion. I do not know your financial circumstances, so I can't really make that decision for you.

However, as for me, going from the 6+ to the 6S+, there have been two very perceptible changes:
1. Almost no browser/ app refreshes due to the increased RAM.
2. The camera/ 4K video mode.

bought a 6S on Friday night to replace my Note 3. don't miss the bigger screen. 6+ is more ergonomic but i don't like that elongated screen very mich

In my case, absolutely! Sold my 6+ for $600, and bought the 6s+ for $949 so it was a "cheap" upgrade for me.

I like it a little heavier actually, it feels more solid in my hands. Receiption is much better on the 6s, must be your carrier.

Also, the 3D touch is huge, and will be especially after more developers start supporting it.

I went from a 6 Plus to the 6S Plus. Very glad I did. Pretty much everything about the phone is better. I purchased AppleCare this time around as I'm so happy with the phone I plan to hang onto it for at least 2 years. I just took some 1080P video of my son launching a model rocket in the back yard and I'm just so impressed with the quality of the video, so incredibly clear and stable.

For me the issue isn't financially based, the 6s+ just isn't worth it for me. Personally waiting for the 7.

I say buy it, try it and if you don't like it, return it within 14 days

That's what I did, and for me, I found out that it wasn't really worth it (based on my usage). Was it nice not to have the webpages refresh all the time - definitely. But some pages did refresh anyway (i guess they're supposed to do that), and I didn't find it to be that much faster than the 6+ (at least in my use). I don't play games, just listen to a few audio apps (music, podcasts, etc), browse the net, watch YouTube videos and text. 3D Touch is cool, but it's not fully supported by a lot of apps yet, so I didn't find it too useful right now. Will it be better - I think so, will I get an iPhone 7 - most likely.

I'd have to renew my contract if I bought it :/

Not the carrier but the frequency band - I actually had mine exchanged because I though it was a faulty unit but it's the same for the new one: reception is down by 10dbm compared to the 6 Plus. Lots of AT&T customers seem to have issues with it as well, found some threads on other forums. Obviously, if you live in an area with good 4G / LTE reception, you'll never notice. But if your 6 Plus barely managed to hang on to the signal before, you might be back in Stone Age (EDGE) with the 6s Plus. Compared to the 6 Plus, the Nexus 6 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+ (all phones of family members that I was able to test), the 6S Plus easily has the worst reception.

I noted as well that my wife seems to have a little better reception at our house as her phone was showing 2 bars in her 6 while my 6S+ was only showing 1. We both have wifi calling enabled and mine displays At&t Wifi while hers doesn't. I'm not sure if that is because her signal appears stronger buts I'm guessing that. The issue really isn't one though as wifi calling is great and everywhere else I've been so far I get a great signal.

Here's my $.02:
- the weight increase of the 6sPlus becomes insignificant after a few days of use.
- 3DTouch is a time-saver and very cool
- Live Photos is neat
- the speed increase is quite noticeable over my 6Plus

Very happy with this upgrade.

don't give in, get the 7+ when it comes out, the "s" updates are minor compared to the next number updates (6 to 7)

The iPhone 6 was a woefully small 'upgrade' over the 5S! I'm not usually someone who jumps on the S models but the 6+ was so lousy that I had to do, and boy is it an upgrade. Double the RAM and something like 70% faster CPU make this the best iPhone upgrade for years. The iPhone 7 will have a different form factor, slimmer bezels and possibly no home button but it won't be the gargantuan performance leap that the 6S is.

I always hate these threads because its only natural to defend a purchase you made. It's really tough to get an unbiased opinion. If you want a better idea, you need to be researching the reviews of tech companies. Don't just look at one either. Look at as many as you can.

Don't really have any complaints overall about my 6 plus but as an apple guy I do feel like I'm missing out on the 3D Touch party

I did nothing but slam the 6 plus last year lol. It was just that bad for me. Had I not talked myself into keeping it for the screen, this passed the return date, I would have returned it.

6 plus was the worst performing iPhone I've ever owned.

6s plus has been the best performing iPhone I've ever owned.

That about sums up my feelings.

I actually JUST upgraded to 9.1 beta 5. And I'm actually finding a huge performance boost over beta 4!

How can Apple sell a brand new iPhone 6 Plus the box with problems?

I think 9.1 is the update that fixes slowness.

Well worth it to me. 6s plus is what the 6 plus should have been.

This really. The 6 Plus is still a great phone, but the new iteration irons out its shortcomings.

The ram makes everything more stable and consistent, far less app reloading - it's like an Air 2 in phone form. 3D Touch is good and will only get better - I already love the ability to swipe back to previous app, and cursor control with the keyboard. The camera is icing on the cake.

Worth the upgrade for me given I can afford it and use my phone so much. Not worth it if budget constrained, or the above benefits don't mean much to you.
