Like the other poster above, the 6 plus was one of my worst iPhone purchases. It was the slowest iPhone out of the box compared to my prior iPhones which required another iOS revision or two before they really began to feel slow. My 6 plus felt more laggy than my 5s when brand new. My then brand new iPad Air 2 destroyed my also then new 6 plus in speed. Too much performance was sacrificed to cut down the power usage to make the phone thinner. The 6S plus corrects all of this and more!

The fastest 5s experience was faster than the out the box experience of the 6 plus?

S to non-S historically has never seen the same performance boost that happens non-S to S. This, combined with the higher res, non-native screen that needed scaling, did the 6 Plus few favours in performance terms coming from the 5S.

That said, the lag wasn't the biggest issue for me, more the lack of ram. Performance was for the most part decent on my 6 Plus, but the constant refreshing apps really grated.

Huh? What does this mean?
The A8 was designed with the emphasis on power savings instead of all out speed. This was necessary so Apple could get away with a lower capacity battery to allow the 6 to be so thin. The A9 doesn't have as much as an issue with power usage as it is made on a much smaller 14/16nm process mode.

Worth it. Everything is buttery smooth with 2GB RAM and A9 Chip. Especially with the 1080p display on the Plus, you need extra horsepower

I did the 6 Plus --> 6S Plus move, and it is well worth it. The speed bump is much more than what I was hoping for and 3D touch is a fun addition.

Coming from a 6 plus to 6s plus.

After the first two days of initially using the new phone I thought it wasn't worth the upgrade and went back to my 6 plus. It wasn't until then that I noticed the subtle differences. The 6s plus is noticeably faster loading apps and webpages, it's almost instant/MacBook fast on wifi for me. I noticed my 6 plus felt clunky after using the new model. Also the ram and background management of refreshing apps makes the phone way better in my opinion. I noticed it wasn't on the list of what people are most looking forward to for a lot of iPhone users, but coming from android it was an important upgrade improvement from what I'm use to.

I did and I'm very satisfied. It all boils down to spending ability. Either choice makes sense, as the 6 plus is a great phone.

I love the better speed, double the RAM memory, the camera, 3D Touch. And the always on Siri is a treat. Battery wise I am finding my 6s plus is lasting longer. Am sure partly because battery in 6 plus was a year old with well over 300 charge cycles.

3D Touch takes a few days to adjust to, as does the instant print recognition of ID Touch. Either choice you make won't be wrong. Be sure to try the content blocking feature in iOS 9 Safari. The ad and tracking blockers really bring back the original internet experience. Speed is now phenomenal, data consumption drastically less. 1blocker, purity, and crystal are my favorite blockers.

How do I turn on the ad and tracking blockers for safari?

I'm definitely in the "budget" group.

It sounds like the experience is worth it if money isn't an issue.

Would be awesome to upgrade but for me it doesn't sound like it's worth the $600+(After $375 apple trade in) entrance fee.

You can probably get more from eBay or Craigslist right can you?

Exactly, why give it away to Apple/Swappa etc. I sold my £699 6+ for £440 and then purchased a 6S+ for £699. The upgrade was still steep at £259 but my 6+ was woeful and I really couldn't stomach another 12 months with that thing.

Sold your 6plus for $670? That doesn't seem the norm. I've sold an iphoneon ebay before and there seemed to be a decent amount of tax and ebay fees.

I'll see what they're going for on Craigslist.

Upgrade for close to $300 sounds a lot more attractive.

Just checked.

Unlocked 6 plus' in my area are going from $5-600. Definitely better than $375.

Yes, I sold my 10 month old 64GB 6+, which was in utterly mint condition, for £440. I sold it privately on the Gumtree site and there were no advertisement or final value fees. I could possibly have got £480-500 on Ebay but there would have been fees and Paypal fees to come off that, plus the gamble of being scammed.

The 2gb of ram ALONE was almost worth the upgrade by itself!

I have to admit though, kinda of got used to the auto-refresh of the 1gb of ram :p

I guess I got used to not keeping more than a small handful of tabs open. The tabs refreshing have actually not been as frequent after the ios9 update

Ive noticed this. iOS 9.1 beta 5 is fast! I'm happy with Apple now!

I started this thread because earlier betas were terrible. Especially beta 4.

Beta 4 had me really thinking of upgrading to a 6s. Pb5 is pretty decent so far.

Yeah I think I did too. On the 6s Plus I would find myself waiting in anticipation of a page reload at times. But of course it doesn't happen. Trying to get back used to a device that functions like it's supposed to.
