I had to phone American Express to get my "card verification" even though it was also the card I use for the App Store. My BoA Visa debit is the same - won't work until I actually phone them in to verify.

Chase Amazon Visa isn't supported yet (grr).

I look forward to trying a drink from the vending machine tomorrow for kicks.

I gave it a shot today but didn't have any luck. I had to stop for gas and they (Sheetz) have NFC on the pumps. I swiped my loyalty card and then it moved on to the payment step. I used the phone and it activated and got the TouchID to complete. The phone then said it was successful. The pump then displayed...

Bummer. I don't know what went wrong since it initially seemed to be working fine.

might be some microwave nearby that caused interference. can you try again and be far away from interfered devices?

Apple credit account card doesn't work? US Bank CC doesn't work. Best Buy MasterCard doesn't work.

What the hell good is this system if none of these cards work?

You have very obscure credit cards. Only major cards are supported at first, smaller cards will be likely to follow later.

i went to subway today and tried using it but it did not work. i went through the entire process and it read my thumb and said "done" but my transaction was not completed..

Finally got to try it! Went to Panera Bread with my kids for dinner....my birthday dinner;). My husband is out of town so perfect opportunity to search for any place that will take it.

I ordered my food... And of the 4 registers.. Three have nfc/Apple pay capability but not mine. I was monetarily devastated. But my youngest was begging for a cookie so after dinner I went back and gave it another try and the panera worker made sure we used one of the correct registers. It worked easily and as I had heard it would.... But he has no idea about it at all and so he asked me a bunch of questions and I explained as best I could. He said they hadn't trained about it at all.

Went to Duane Reade after work. Had my Amex authorized (super easy setup) and the payment was done faster than if I had swiped my card. Normally takes 2 damn tries at Duane Reade for my card to register. Love it so far.

We have those pumps too, You're better off tapping the phone inside. The pumps only seem to like American Express cards for NFC :/

normally that would be disapproved but due to Apple Pay excitement, it is approval by parents... just so that parents can test paying by their phone.

----------

Because gas stations have so many running microwaves laying around...

some gas station is close to subways which have microwaves.

I'm not a total pushover;). We were going to ice cream in lieu of cake... And I said he could have the cookie or ice cream and he picked the cookie. Worked to my favor bc I had to buy something to give it a try anyway. :)

I way prefer Apple pay to using my credit card. It will cut down on the frequency with which I misplace my cards and my phone is usually in my hand in lines anyway.

Citibank cards cannot be added

For some strange reason Citibank cards cannot be added even though they are a partner in Applepay.
Anyone else having this problem

Tried setting it up and it didn't work with my master card I can only imagine it's because of the bank it was issued from is't compatible with apple pay yet really bums me out

Registration/validation worked for me, on 3 different cards from 3 different financial institutions: mastercard, american express, and visa. None had to be specially verified (aside from waiting a moment for the autoverify), and I only got one email notification at first (mastercard). Email notifications for the others followed hours later.

Everything appears to be all set up and ready, although there isn't much around me to try out (except McDs and Subway).

I bought gas at Chevron tonight with Apple Pay. I assumed since they had a tap system before, that my phone would work at the pump, but I had to go inside. The phone registered that it was near a compatible terminal, but it took several tries to get it to work. The clerk was not amused.

I just tried to "Apple pay" at Chevron and it said done on my phone but the transaction didn't complete on the register, then I tried it again and it said done but still didn't register.

Had to pay the "old fashioned" way.

Incorrect. If you use a debit card via Apple Pay and choose "debit" at the POS terminal it will ask you for a pin on the POS terminal, not the phone.

It's not incorrect, I have made 3 debit transactions with Apple Pay with my debit card today, didn't have to enter the PIN once

I think the problem is that don't ask if they accept Apple Pay ask if they accept wireless payment from phone. Any place that accepts NFC will accept Apple Pay, right?

Others have confirmed it asks you for a PIN.

It might if bank has decided to, but it won't in most cases, all my debit transactions so far have not asked for a PIN.

----------

I thought this too, but I had to enter my PIN for my debit card when using Apple Pay at Walgreen's.

It's not how the system is supposed to work. In most cases, you wont have to enter a PIN; the systems are not all configured properly so far, just a first day kind of problem

----------

It does at Walgreens

just a temporary bug for some badly configured terminal; not to worry, that should be fixed soon.
