In Alaska. Hopefully it is going to Memphis at 4PM Alaskan time. (8PM EST?)

Cool! It may well go out before that or after that; there are a bunch of flights to Memphis and Indianapolis to connect to you, so if it hasn't scanned out by around then, don't give up hope for a Saturday delivery!

I'm kind of annoyed. I ordered a 15" CTO MPB Wendesday night and I paid the extra $ for expidited shipping. It still hasn't changed from "Not yet shipped"

Same exact computer as mine. It is 5:52AM now in Shanghai, China. Yours should be on a plane soon.

Prepared for Shipment!

Mine is now prepared for shipment!

I checked the Apple Order Status page about six hours ago while at school (and using the dreadfully slow '07 iMacs still running Tiger), and it had still said "Not yet shipped". There's hope!

Again, my specs were:

15.4/2.66/CTO

2.66GHz Intel Core i7
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRM - 2x2GB
500GB Serial ATA Drive @ 7200

...and I am in Illinois, USA.

:apple: :)

was your order expedited or regular ground shipping?

I ordered it the night it came out. It was expedited shipping. I was really hoping for the 19th or 20th but I guess waiting for a bit more wouldn't hurt after that torture waiting for the refresh.

Mine went to prepared for shipment at around 3:00 EST today. When do you think it will ship? What's the average? Mine is 2 day shipping.

Mine just went to prepared for shipment, sometime in the last half hour. :)

There are a lot of prepare to ship mbps out there. I bet all of our orders are just waiting to be picked up. Since its 6:40am in China right now, they will probably get picked up pretty soon and get on the next plane. Here's for hoping! :D

I live in Europe. Hopefully this whole vulcano-dust-cloud-thing won't affect the shipment from china to europe...

Mine was shipped today :) 15" i7, 500GB 7200RPM HDD, High res glossy, with apple remote, sleeve and applecare. I'm in the UK, so we've got this delay on flights due to the Iceland volcano, but delivery seems mighty slow! Apple's website says 27-28th, but then when I click track this order, it says 5th May  Surely that can't be right, that'd be 1 and a half weeks minimum, and 2.5 weeks at the outside.

Hi psychos,

Since you have done a lot of research, mind to share with us the route from China to the UK? Will it go by the east-bound or the least efficient west-bound direction (i.e. through US)? FeDex or UPS?

Unfortunately I can't be of much help there... The tools I'm familiar with generally only cover flights that arrive/depart the US/Canada and major airports in parts of Europe, and the tools I know that will give me global info only work for passenger flights. So if neither end is in the US/Canada or one of a few European airports, I can't easily see it. It seems CGN (Cologne) is the main European UPS hub, and STN (London-Stansted) is the main UK UPS hub, and neither of those are covered, thus I can't see UPS flights from Asia to those hubs.

Previous posters have been noting that it does seem to be UPS handling most European deliveries, and an earlier poster pasted a Shanghai UPS departure scan that lined up nicely with a Shanghai-Anchorage flight. This suggests that they are perhaps coming via the US, but it could've been a Asia-Europe (or Asia-Middle East-Europe) flight that I just can't easily see. If it is via the US, the likely route would be Shanghai-Anchorage-Louisville-Newark-Stansted, though I could see it perhaps being Shanghai-Anchorage-Louisville-Cologne-<some UK airport>.

Of course, that routing is ridiculously long compared to going westbound. Shanghai-Anchorage-Louisville-Newark-Stansted is 102.3% further than the actual distance from Shanghai to London-Stansted—that is, just over twice the distance, not 2.3% more than it.

Best case going PVG-ANC-SDF-EWR-STN, departing PVG 8 - 10PM local time, your package would get to STN around 8PM the next day local time on UPS235, transit within the UK overnight, and be delivered 2 days from when it shipped. :) (I'd expect another day or two though, and tack on more extra days for the lovely ash cloud!)

so i ordered the mbp in my sig. Yesterday it went to shipped but it hasnt done much since then. This is my current progress...

So the first FedEx flight that the Anchorage arrivals could connect to just departed: FDX14 to Memphis.

Anyone who's had their laptop scan in at Anchorage have it scan out on its way down to the lower 48 yet? If so, it's on that plane! :)

Couple other MEM flights, an EWR, and an OAK scheduled in this outbound bank from ANC for the next couple hours so far... (May have to page back or forth to find the FDX flights if you load this later.)
