Has your MBP shipped yet?

I am also in Canada.
Ordered mine on Wednesday, received it on Friday, and did not pay for Expedited Shipping.
Couldn't believe it.
I am finding this notebook does tend to run on the warm side compared to my C2D MBP.

If I'm only about 100 miles from Memphis, and my tracking page shows that it left Anchorage at 3:44 pm...

Do I have a chance of getting it on Monday? My estimated delivery is currently the 20th by 10:30 AM.

They could absolutely get it to you by Monday. But with that estimated delivery, I'm again going to surmise that we're starting to see purposeful delays within the US...so it may just sit in Memphis until sometime Sunday night or Monday before it gets on a truck to the local hub near you... 🙁

Yup, got the cutoff same as you, even though it was in FedEx's hands somewhere around Shanghai 8 hours before the ANC flight. My laptop seems to be sharing a truck with yours too, given the identical timestamps. 🙂

From all the tracking data from other folks, and obsessive research, I believe our laptops will leave Shanghai either Monday around 11PM local time on FDX90 PVG-MEM or on Tuesday around 9PM on FDX48 PVG-ANC. It's possible there will be a Monday PVG-ANC flight that I just haven't found. Nobody has posted tracking info indicating that any laptops were routed PVG-MEM, so it's looking increasingly likely that they are all going via ANC (see past few pages for more info.)

My delivery estimate is Apr 21. Either flight could get it to me on that date, but from what people have been posting, it seems that almost all delivery dates are being given as 2 business days from when the shipment arrives in Anchorage, even though you can get from there to anywhere within 100+ miles of a major city the next day. And if I do ship out via ANC on Tuesday, it would have to be 1 day in transit to make it to me on Wednesday, which is at odds with everyone else being shown 2 days... (But 1 day transit can easily be accomplished by shipping it on one of a bunch of different possible ANC-MEM-BOS, ANC-IND-BOS, or ANC-EWR-BOS routes that the inbound PVG flight easily connects to with a few hours to spare.)

Where are you located, and what's your delivery estimate? We can tell more from that...

Probably maintenance. They have never released products on Sunday morning and I have seen them do maintenance on Sunday mornings 2-3 times since I started "waiting for Arrandale."

What a coincidence, I'm having mine shipped to Boston too, est. delivery date April 21. So you think they'll make it? It is Fedex so I trust they will; hopefully they will make up for all this lost time with them sitting in China for 3 days.

I'm finding the volcano news rather interesting myself, both being something of an air travel geek (generally related to passenger flights, not tracking cargo as I've been playing with through this thread 🙂), and having spent a bit of time in Iceland and driven past that glacier... I think this is the biggest meltdown in air travel history; it's eclipsed the post-9/11 US shutdown at this point, and nobody knows quite when it'll end yet.

This NY Times article with New Yorkers trying to pronounce Eyjafjallajökull is pretty funny. 🙂 Folks in Iceland are pretty amused by our attempts at pronunciation too. (Don't ask how much time I wasted learning how to properly pronounce and remembering how to spell Kirkjubæjarklaustur and other things... 🙂)

I got an email from apple last night. The status has since been changed to 'shipped'. The delivery date has been bumped back to April 26 (as opposed to April 22-23).

I really hope they still make April 22-23, as those are the day's I'm off from work.

Edit: Apple seems to have given me an invalid tracking number for UPS. What's up with that?

The initial tracking number is the apple one. In a few hours it will change to the ups one, don't worry.

I think we'll be lucky to get them this week to be honest. Mine was originally scheduled by ups for tomorrow

Well, based on how soon they COULD get it to you, vs how soon Apple paid them to get it to you, the estimated arrival is almost certainly not later than it will arrive for folks in the US... You may get lucky and have them truck it over to your local delivery facility sometime today or early Monday morning...or it may indeed just sit and not make its way over until later Monday, late enough to be well past the cutoff to go out for delivery Monday and have to wait until Tuesday. Or ship it via some nearby location and set it sit there for a bunch of hours before coming back to your local facility in San Francisco...

And they could do something silly like stick it on FDX2642 to fly 29 miles to SJC (seems to be weekly, operating Monday afternoons; but that somewhat reeks of a ferry flight to reposition the craft) and truck it up from there...no way to know at this point. 🙂

Just guessing you upgraded some parts on your macbook, in which case you would not have been able to just drive to the apple store to pick one up unless you wanted one that was stock. I am waiting for my 17inch i7 with anti-glare screen... also in Washington. Estimated delivery is the 20th by 10:30am... Right in the middle of a math test.

I wanted to upgrade but just couldn't swing it. I went with the faster processor if that is an upgrade I guess so. I'll let ya'll know if when I recieve. Oh by the way I did get my expedited $18 refunded. I didn't even go off or anything like that. I just told them I might cancel my online order and drive to the store and BAM they were all over a refund and apologetic. I really like the customer service so far. Funny I'll also be in class also. But I have a sitter at home lucky me to sign. I'll be all over that

Ordered mine at 10am on 4/14/10, didn't get picked up until friday and did not ship overseas until saturday. I was hoping to have it by the friday it was picked up on. Boy was I wrong 🙁.
