Ordered mine at 10am on 4/14/10, didn't get picked up until friday and did not ship overseas until saturday. I was hoping to have it by the friday it was picked up on. Boy was I wrong :(.

You're extremely lucky yours even made it out of Shanghai already! I ordered around 10PM EDT on Tuesday, and though I have a tracking number now, my laptop is just sitting around for the next flight...as are most people who ordered as late as I did on Tuesday. Haven't seen any other Wednesday orders that actually shipped and made it onto that PVG-ANC flight yet. Though if yours was a non-BTO that would make more sense. Still, I don't think you have much to complain about vs most folks here. :)

Having it by the Friday it was picked up on is impossible unless you use a courier or next flight-type service; probably $500 - $1k to ship it that way. Having a Friday shipment originate in Shanghai and arrive Saturday morning is quite feasible, though. But it seems Apple specifically did not opt for Saturday delivery (yet I've seen a couple posts with Saturday delivery for accessories!)

Exact same status for me. Mine is going to Munich and was supposed to be here Monday. I hope the air traffic will be able later on today.

A fellow countryman has his UPS tracking frozen on 'NATUURRAMP' (Natural disaster). So now it's official, the volcano is causing direct delays of shipments.

Now all we can do is hope the problem is solved soon.

I also learned the plane from Shanghai flies to Cologne, Germany.

Same here... guesses as to when we will see our MBP's? May as well have some fun with speculation while we wait :D

I would guess a week or more from now for folks in Europe...

You might see something like the following until then:

The initial tracking number is the apple one. In a few hours it will change to the ups one, don't worry.

I think we'll be lucky to get them this week to be honest. Mine was originally scheduled by ups for tomorrow

So I'm off work for a couple of weeks and I decided to treat myself to a shiny new 15" I7. Ordered it yesterday afternoon. Shipped within a few hours of placing the order with an amazing delivery date of Tuesday. This is the quickest Apple shipping I've yet known.

But then there's the volcanic ash cloud. Sigh. Got the UPS tracking number but it's not even recognised by UPS yet. Presuming there's a backlog with UPS so it's not even being processed yet.

On top of this frustration, I have an iPad shipping with USPS since Thursday that's also in volcanic ash limbo. :-(

Royal Mail are still shipping to the US (moving parcels by land to Southern Spain and flying from there) so why can't USPS and UPS put some contingency measures in place too!?

My MBP is now back from Germany to China!!!!! anyone else in the same situation?

Congratulations to those in Anchorage - here in Europe we share their happiness - however, it would indeed be nice to here from also Europeans who have placed orders for new Macbook(s) (Pro's). For my part (Denmark) the picture still looks dark - (The volcano!) - as seems to be the case for Germany - I am inclined to believe that our MBP's never so far has been in Køln (Cologne), but that only some paper work was attended to in the latter town - they are most likely still in Shanghai on this sunday afternoon!

Exactly the same as I have here... had a bit of false hope yesterday afternoon when I saw the COLOGNE tag, but I must admit I did wonder how on earth it made it there.

Until we see other folks post that they have US shipments coming via UPS, I'm going to assume for the moment that it's possible that for some reason your shipment got mistakenly stuck in with a bunch of Europe-bound boxes. :) We'll see! (Anyone else with a US delivery coming via UPS, let us know, so the overly obsessed curious folks like me have additional interesting info to obsess over!)

Mine is coming UPS;

Product: WORLD EASE
Type: Package
Service: EXPEDITED

Washington, DC.

Mine arrived in Memphis at 6am and is still estimated for delivery on the 22nd. I hope it's wrong! I live In wi.

Let's keep in touch - I am living in Copenhagen. I do hope your order will reach you as promised, however, I am inclined to believe that a little later you may get the same additional scan-info as everybody else in the North European area - the volcano problem. But keep the fingers crossed!

UPS are using ground services (trucking shipments in Europe) where possible as the air hub in Cologne has been closed since Friday.

I'd hate to break it down to you all but the volcanic ash are gonna stay in the atmosphere for some 2 weeks or so. And if the volcano that just erupted (call Eyjallafaljlaa or something) triggers it's neighbour giant volcano 'Katla' volcanic ash from that can last for 4 months.

Throughout the past 2k years the volcano erupted 5 times and 3 of those times it triggered Katla as well.

Yeah I hope so. Maybe it reached Cologne and UPS will send it by truck from there. I'll update if the status changes.

So, if they haven't shipped out by now are they pretty much stalled until monday?

Or will they work on them over the weekend?

Still in Not Yet Shipped mode

Still in Not Yet Shipped mode. I guess it could be worse if i was in volcanic territory. Mine is coming to the US. Must be a parts delay. I just hope I get it before next weekend.

I don't understand why are they sending our MBPs back to China.

Apparently our MBPs never left china. The "Germany" location referred to data processing that happened there. that's all.

The situation is quite bad here in the UK. It's more than just delivering MBPs. People are stranded abroad, and soon companies will start thinking of imported food and medicine shortages!!

On the BBC website someone wrote that they had to hire a taxi to drive them back from France for £2000 . The cost would have been much higher if they stayed in France waiting (hotels, food etc..)

So we should be the last to be frustrated :)
