Mine was ready on the 16th in china and sat in a warehouse until today. I think it is on flight ups85 but I won't know until i get an arrival scan.

My original delivery date was for the 18th to the 23rd. It was updated to the 22nd, and now they don't show any expected delivery date.

On the UPS site they state somewhere that the updates are not current and may take a day or two to be reflected.

Good luck.

BAHAHAH, my dog escapes the fence, and my mom goes to look for him, in that time, fedex came and missed the signature, FML!!!!
Holy crap, you have some SERIOUSLY bad karma going on!! You better go out and start helping little old ladies cross the street or else your delivery truck might get hijacked before tomorrow!!

Well I decided to Cancel My Order today, as it had been sitting on Prepared for Shipment since Yesterday morning. I have a very tight deadline for the arrival as I have family travelling through Brisbane. I rang the Apple Store Chermside and Apple Store Robina, and both of them had the i7 17" Antiglare MBPs in stock. But neither store had the 8GB RAM to upgrade.
Going this route also means that I can't upgrade to 7200 RPM hard drive in store.
However in order for my family to bring the MBP back home to me, the MBP would have to ARRIVE in Brisbane at the delivery address by 8:30AM on Wednesday morning, I had no option but to cancel my order.

Looking on the Apple site it said that I could not cancel my order as it had moved to Prepared to Shipment.

So I did the next best thing, and rang my credit card company and they verified that Apple had not charged my credit card, but had only placed a check against the funds on the card. They suggested that I should Cancel my Credit Card, and they would issue me a new credit Card, and Apple would be unable to process my order, as I now have a new Credit Card number.
The fee is only a $50 NZ to get a new Credit Card.

The advantage of me getting my family to bring it home to me is that they will be able to claim the GST back from the Australian Tourist Refund Scheme (instant 10% discount) :D The likelihood of it arriving before they left was looking EXTREMELY low. This would mean no 10% GST refund, as well as an international airfare from Port Moresby to Brisbane, hotel fees and return flight!

SO I got my family to go buy a stock i7 17" AntiGlare MacBook Pro from Apple Store Chermside in Brisbane this afternoon.

I now have my MBP purchased, and am in the market for an 8GB RAM upgrade. I also have the option of upgrading my HD for either a 7200 RPM or SSD if prices decrease in the immediate future.

What do you think Apple Store Online will do? Bar me from future purchases on the online store?

Actually, what will probably happen is that the MacBook Pro you ordered will ship to you anyway, Apple will realize that they can't charge your credit card, and will send you a bill for the amount you owe which won't be reversed until you return the item to them within the 14 day grace period.

Same here, do you guys know what flight it might be on?

According to flight aware at least (http://flightaware.com/live/fleet/FDX) the only fedex inbound flights are coming from Japan and Hong Kong so either it was repositioned and we didn't get a notification or it is just being repositioned now for a flight later in the day.

Out of curiosity do people with the In Transit now have expedited shipping? I do and I am wondering if this is being done to keep on that schedule since there won't be another flight out of Shanghai directly until tomorrow.

hrm. that's weird:

Apr 19, 2010 10:01 AM At local FedEx facility PORTLAND, OR
Apr 19, 2010 7:47 AM At local FedEx facility PORTLAND, OR
Apr 19, 2010 5:00 AM At dest sort facility PORTLAND, OR
Apr 18, 2010 3:29 PM Departed FedEx location MEMPHIS, TN

looks like it moved from one side of the local facility to the other over the course of two hours. i wonder if they'll load it onto a truck later today, or if i'll have to stalk the fedex guy in the am tomorrow.... hrm.

My 13'' Base Model was scheduled to be delivered Thursday, but showed up this morning at 9am.

What irked me was the fact that it was considered a BTO/CTO. I didn't change any specs, but added a MDP to VGA adapter. I thought they'd just throw one in the box. Nope, it was considered a BTO/CTO, which probably added to the shipping time.

Annoying, I won't make that mistake again.

Also, this was without expedited shipping, and I ordered about an hour after the Apple Store came back up last Tuesday.

I've literally been on the edge of my seat pacing back and forth from my computer to the balcony of my apartment for the last few hours waiting for my i7 17" to arrive which is "on FedEx vehicle for delivery" as of 7:30 AM this morning (its now 1:30 PM here)... and I hear a big truck pull up in front of my complex as I sprint to the balcony already with a huge grin on my face and what do I see? UPS guy.

If it doesn't deliver today, I can go pick it up from the local facility after delivery hours, right?

Hey guys,

Just got my Macbook Pro in!!!! UPS was pretty late in updating the tracking information.

I'll try and get some pics up later!

Awesome! Enjoy it!

I think mine is on a plane to Alaska right now. Mine was only a couple of hours behind you in China, but I don't expect mine until Thursday.:)
