My CTO just delivered 3 days early.

17", i7, Antiglare, 8GB, 7200RPM

No expedited shipping
Ordered 4/13 just after Online Store reopened

Did it come from FedEx? Did you know it was in the states or did it still show as in China? Holding out some hope that it is really in the states but FedEx's tracking system sucks :(.

I have two "in transit" records at 10:16 PM and 11:14 PM as well. We must be sharing the same truck/flight/whatever. I assume your's is scheduled for delivery April 21 (Wednesday) as well?

Mine has 4/21 as delivery date with the same timestamps.

Mine has the same timestamps and is scheduled for the 21st as well. Considering the fact that most likely most mbps on that flight out of shanghai have a delivery date of the 21st, we can safely assume that they'll make it to their final destinations on time.

Does yours say 10:30, or 4:30?

It came from FedEx. I knew it was coming. Well, I knew it was on the truck for delivery. I had been watching the site here and watching the tracking progress at FedEx since Friday.

I've literally been on the edge of my seat pacing back and forth from my computer to the balcony of my apartment for the last few hours waiting for my i7 17" to arrive which is "on FedEx vehicle for delivery" as of 7:30 AM this morning (its now 1:30 PM here)... and I hear a big truck pull up in front of my complex as I sprint to the balcony already with a huge grin on my face and what do I see? UPS guy.

If it doesn't deliver today, I can go pick it up from the local facility after delivery hours, right?

hahaha, I've been doing the same thing! I'm going crazy!

Helpful links and such

http://flightaware.com Great info on flights

So far most of the US shipments have been with fedex and the Canadian Shipments have been UPS. Almost everything for North America has traveled through alaska (PANC) to Memphis (Fedex) or Louisville (UPS)

UPS updates have been slow to update, Fedex seems to be quicker.

From what I have seen UPS shipment tracking follows this path:

SHANGHAI, CN 19/04/2010 22:10 DEPARTURE SCAN
SHANGHAI, CN 18/04/2010 2:50 DEPARTURE SCAN
SHANGHAI, CN 17/04/2010 1:38 EXPORT SCAN
SHANGHAI, CN 16/04/2010 14:57 ORIGIN SCAN
CN 16/04/2010 5:41 BILLING INFORMATION RECEIVED

The dates will obviously be different. This one is mine and it sat around for over three days. I have seen shorter times.

The Billing info is when UPS was notified that the computer was ready for pick up.

The origin scan is when your mbp was picked up by UPS.

The first departure scan means that it is on a truck to a holding centre at or near the airport.
The second departure scan means that it is on a plane.

The next scan should be the arrival scan at Anchorage Alaska.

Check out the Fedex and UPS websites and the first 10 pages of this forum for a whole tonne of information that i am forgetting right now.

Most of your questions have been answered in here already. and there are a couple of links for more tracking sites that you may find useful.

Thank you to the other members in this Forum for all the work and help you have provided me.

Good luck and be patient. This is a huge logistical undertaking and the current volcanic conditions have complicated things world wide.

Ok I may have the answer for those of us that have been stuck in China for awhile. FDX90 is a flight that just took off from Shanghai, but instead of heading to Anchorage, as is the normal track, it is headed straight to Memphis. I'm willing to bet that one - we are all on the east coast and two - we all have expedited shipping. We were waiting around for that direct flight to Memphis!

I ordered my CTO MBP Friday April 16 at about 9am... It listed 5-7 business days... Anyone seen any action on their orders around that time? My credit card was charged the full amount on Friday not just an authorization.

Actually I'm in Arizona :(.

If it's like the UPS flight, it's final destination is Memphis with the same flight number, but stops in Anchorage. That's what UPS81 says, destination Louisville, but it stops in Anchorage.

Hmmm...maybe I wasn't so clever after all. Well, that plane doesn't land in Memphis until 12:30 a.m. EST so I guess we won't know anything until then.

No your logic works...not that we were held up to get on that flight, but that expedited is on that flight since Memphis is FedEx's main hub meaning it is only a day away from everywhere east or west coast. So they hold up the non-expedited to be on the next flight to Anchorage probably for delivery Thursday and get the expedited out direct to Memphis and then onto their continental US destination.

Same here. My time stamps for the April 19 and 20 dates are identical to yours. Looks like our machines are in the same shipment, and have finally begun to make their way over.

I wonder if there's a possibility that's it's on FDX90 that left about 4 hours ago, since it was scanned at the FedEx facility at 2100 local time, and FDX90 seems to have left at around 2330 CST (China Standard Time?). Does anyone know if these things get scanned prior to departure, or can they be scanned while in the air?

If your mbp is on a plane now to Memphis (transit stamp of 11:14PM) and your order is going to the Los Angeles area, your order will most likely be on this flight tomorrow which means we will most likely get our wonderful new mbps on wed like fedex said.

Mine just arrived!!

CTO/BTO with hi-res screen, ordered Apr 13th. Shipped to Atlanta. Fedex info attached.
