I called Apple today, as I've been hearing that airports are opening up again in some locations. My shipping says delivered by the 5th. I was told on the phone that it should be with me by the third and that the delays were caused, unsurprisingly, by the volcanic ash.

With some airports seemingly opening again though, I'm a bit more hopeful that I might see my MBP sometime this side of May, though I'll not hold my breath.

...and FDX90 PVG-MEM departed at 11:14PM. The PVG-ANC flight didn't operate today, as expected, so my laptop is pretty much certainly on FDX90!

Also shows us that they are routing things through MEM...although, today could be an exception since it's the one working day with no ANC flight. So we'll see tomorrow if anyone goes out via MEM or not.

I'm still seeing an Apr 21 estimated delivery (by 10:30AM at least.) Guess it's probably going to sit around in MEM and/or somewhere in the middle so that I don't get it tomorrow.

I hope so too. Considering the plane left mere minutes after the 11:14 status update my guess is ours are on that plane.

It should! It's a 777 and that plane flies right over ANC directly to Memphis.

The question is...which plane? Probably not on the FDX90 flight that left at 2314 CST, and I'm not seeing any FDX flights on Flightracker that show an early Tuesday morning departure from Shanghai.

Actually there is a PVG-ANC flight in the air right now (details here), left at 2:44AM China time, which is pretty much right on with the 'In Transit' time stamp he has (and I have ordered the same config, and have the same timestamps as well). So I think they are indeed in the air. Mine is scheduled for delivery on the 21st.

Can't wait! My first Mac (other than my hackintoshed netbook, which is what convinced me to get the real thing)

Hmm, that flight shows as departing at 9:10PM local time. Where did you see 2:44AM? Also, all the examples of packages also departing do seem to have shown two "in transit" scans in Shanghai. That one only shows one, and has a delivery day one day later than my package that does seem to have left today...

Yeah, the confused me a bit as well. That link leads to a PAC flight, so unless FedEx is using Polar Air Cargo as a subcontractor, that flight is out. Not to mention it's departure time from PVG is wrong. Furthermore, the flight tracker website doesn't seem to list any departures beyond Monday, which is unfortunate since the 0244 CST timestamp some of us are seeing would be Tuesday in Shanghai.
