Just to post another data point:

I ordered just before 5pm PDT on 4/13. It shipped on 4/17 with this note, "Package received after FedEx cutoff." It finally got the In Transit scan on 4/20 with the 3:20am timestamp.

It's shipping to Texas, and I did not get expedited shipping.

Exactly matches the 2:40AM timestamp of FDX1406 MEM-BOS, just took a while to show up after departure. It's only a 10 minute drive from BOS to my local delivery location. Getting close to bedtime...and I'll be quite happy if my slumber is disturbed by the FedEx guy buzzing my apt in a few hours. (Better not delay it once it gets to Boston, FedEx. I'll have to very angrily shake my fist at you if you do that!)

Congrats Psychos and thanks for the consolidated info. Mine displayed the second "In Transit" stamp at 12:48pm 4/20 Shanghai. That means it's on the flight right was one scheduled at about that time-- I can't seem to find it.

That's a new one... There is no known flight scheduled around then (that is, that we know about/have been able to find and track); the known PVG-ANC is around 9PM and PVG-MEM around 11PM. Either you are sitting at the airport for the ANC or MEM flight, or you are on some other flight...again likely through NRT or ICN. Post your scan once it gets somewhere...likely Anchorage, even if it does go through somewhere else; the ones we've seen that have gone through an undetermined route have had a "hidden" Asian hop that didn't show up in the tracking data. The only one of those I'm reasonable certain of is the CAN-NRT-ANC...which I do not think you are on, because you would have seen a "Departure scan"-type thing for the truck/train up to Guangzhou (CAN), rather than the two "in transit"s that so far have indicated either PVG-ANC (on Friday and Saturday) or PVG-MEM (on Monday.)

May be more evidence that they're staging things for the next outbound PVG flights...we did have some Fri/Sat PVG-ANC scans where it was well before the flight actually departed, but then did seem to be PVG-ANC upon arrival in ANC. All the PVG-MEM scans from Mon seem to have had the same 11:14PM 2nd "in transit" scan, though, coinciding with when that flight actually left.

...may as well stay up the next 15+ minutes and see if my package scans in Boston now. Can't sleep; silly Asian client making me end up keeping screwy hours.

Estimated delivery is still showing as Apr 21 by 10:30AM...but I strongly suspect they'll bring it the 5 miles from the airport over to me today. So, another pending data point showing that you can indeed get stuff to most of the US the next business day after it leaves Shanghai. If I had been routed PVG-ANC instead of PVG-MEM, that flight leaves PVG 2 hours earlier, giving it plenty of time to connect to multiple possible ANC-IND-BOS, ANC-MEM-BOS, or ANC-EWR-BOS flights.

This remains a mystery...we've had folks all over the US with 3:20AM scans, both expedited and not. I think the majority of folks who've gotten to the "in transit" stage at this point currently have that same scan. Don't think we'll know anything for another 12+ hours when it perhaps scans somewhere else.

My theory is that those of us who are still "stuck" in Shanghai with the 3:20am time stamp are on the West Coast, and thus our batch is scheduled for the Anchorage flight, or some other unknown flight that lands somewhere closer to the West Coast than Memphis. Is there anyone out there with the 3:20am time stamp who's not on the West Coast, cause that would pretty much disprove my theory.

I have the same scans as your dad's. I wouldn't be surprised if our laptops were on flight FDX1412, which departed Memphis at 3:10AM and arrived in Manchester at 6:14AM. It's probably just a matter of time before the tracking information is updated.

Interesting data...you were picked up first by a few minutes, but still missed the cutoff, and your dad's made it to Memphis already. I'd guess you were randomly stuck into two different pallets leaving around the same time...and his got lucky. Since your dad's didn't leave Memphis early this morning, it's likely stuck there and won't be out for delivery until tomorrow...though it could have missed a scan. (Although it seems like they like to scan that one a lot, it apparently cleared customs twice. )

I suspect you'll actually be on one of the MEM-MHT flights, not via BOS. (Especially if you're expedited.) There's still a decent chance that yours could ship out from PVG today and make it to you tomorrow as well; probably depends on how lucky you get with the routing once it [likely] hits ANC.

Don't worry, I'm far more pathetic as far as all this package and flight tracking goes than you are.

This seems to be normal behavior. See the mini-FAQ in my sig if you're really curious... Chances are it'll make it out of PVG today on the ANC or MEM flight, if not something else. (Still wondering what exactly is going on with all those 3:20ers.)

OH MY GOD! I think I just figured it out! I just noticed on his tracking# it reads: "Weight
5.1 kg/11.2 lbs "

So mine must be the other 5.1 kg! And that's why it went thru customs twice, a scan for each MBP! hopefullly...

You'll probably move somewhere today. Your arrival time is also rather interesting...mind posting your full tracking history? Nothing went out of PVG on the 18th, and the only thing out of PVG on the 19th was PVG-MEM. Trying to track down these other mystery flights...

...ahh, and I still can't sleep. But at least my package is still moving around for me to watch!
