does FedEx stick to their morning delivery estimate?
Mine has been sitting in Memphis since 3 am today under Int'l shipment release. At least it's in the US , but why no movement today
mine too... actually it just switched to Departed FedEx Location at 3:07PM,
but I think I'm out of luck for getting it today...

It's relevant to your individual case. They wouldn't inform you they were experiencing delays if the delays wouldn't (possibly) affect you. Not to say it WILL push back your delivery, but it could. I cringe at the opening sentence... "We are happy to in form you...we are experiecing some unexpected delays

They have historically been quite accurate (as in making the estimate a lower boundary, ie you won't get it afterwards). Their tracking software changes the status from "On Schedule" to whatever applies once there're problems. I'm not associated with them, but my personal experience makes it easy to believe that scenes like in the beginning of the movie "Cast Away" indeed happen every day all over the world
I called Apple
Manager said they would make an exception and send an email to the warehouse to expedite the order.
An hour later it has prepared for shipment.
Not sure if that was the cause or not.
If it catches a flight (it is 5:00 am in Shanghai) in the morning I may see it Friday.

I'm in the 5 to 7 days shipment estimate and all I am hoping for is that it isn't a supply issue (and thus the time becomes very unpredictable), but rather a weather issue and maybe once that clears up the back log will start flowing through and the estimate will shrink. Whereas the ships in 24 hour items are the "Retail" set ups that are already sitting in a warehouse in the states.
Maybe we should start our own little party
I ordered the 15" Core i7 with hi-res AG display. I too am hoping it ships by this friday, which would be 5 business days exactly.
That's great! Still no updates yet for me. Does anyone know of FDX flights going from Anchorage to other hubs today or tonight? I can't seem to find them on flightaware.
I have the Apr 20, 2010 8:37 PM - Shanghai - In Transit line and it arrived in ANC around 1:00pm

All you guys whose computers that came into ANC last night at 3:48 (am, so today really), your orders have cleared customs and will be on outgoing flights this afternoon. All those flights leave ANC between 1430-1700.
You should have them in your hand tomorrow, almost regardless of where you live (in the US).
Unless FedEx does some bouncing around... Mine estimates Thursday, though I would really enjoy having it here tomorrow!
Well good to know you have more recent information about my packet than the Fedex tracking system, which unfortunately states that it did not clear customs yet. Do you happen to have an online interface, sir?
My estimated delivery is tomorrow before 10:30am, but mine still has not yet cleared customs.
Ordered April 14th. Went to "prepared for shipment" sometime around the 17th. (All times/dates below are US/Central). Estimated delivery, according to fedex, is April 22.

Here's mine, anyone want to wager a guess as to when I'll get it? It's headed to the Sacramento area in California with an estimated delivery of 4/22 by 4:30 PM. To all those people who were able to get Hold at Location, did you do anything special? The FedEx rep I talked to said that Apple specifically told them not to allow it... I'm having a hard time believing that...
