Well it's been a long hard road but it made it this morning. I am in wa on west coast. Here's how mine went.

BTW...I ask them also as to why the hell my package went from Anchorage to Louisville where it is way far east...I am in Calgary, and is way closer to Anchorage than Louisville. She told me cuz that is where the Major customs is.
WOW UPS, you are stupid! It makes sense to have all abroad package to land in Anchorage. Wouldn't it make more sense for your company's bottom line and to your customers to then have Anchorage sort the packages to major UPS ports according to where the packages are going instead of going to one site ONLY? Not only it make that one site have to deal with ALL the packages and slow everything down. There are SOOOOOO many stinking UPS ports doing nothing. The only thing I can say that is a plus on UPS is comparing to Purolator. Purolator have the worst customer service. Purolator yells at you when you call or when they call to have you pick up your package when you are not home!!!!!!!!!! It is almost as if you are causing them inconvenience. Dell uses them for Canada exclusively.

I am thinking about returning mine and waiting another month to get the free ipod.

This two week wait for delivery is outrageous.
 
Departed Louisville

looks like hope for tomorrow! Finally departed Louisville, 2 pm. No flights to ATL till tomorrow early early a.m. but it could be trucking, which is fine too. Just please let me have it tomorrow! I have a project I am dying to work on with it so I don't have to keep going back and forth between my PC and my iMac. My iMac is pre intel, so I can't run parallels etc. on it, and I have a project for my kids school i am infinitely behind on b/c the software is Windows based, and I've been waiting for the new MBP!!!!! :eek:

He,he,he. Funny you mention that. Man, have I ever been distracted by this whole shipping fiasco.

Was supposed to receive my MBP today, called UPS last night, they said Thursday. We're now well into Wednesday and I still have the darned:

Returns

Does anyone know if you can return an unopened item bought on the Apple.com site to a physical Apple Store or if you actually have to reward (pay) UPS or Fed-X to return the item?

I used the student discount, so if I return it now and order it again in a month I get the ipod free too. I've waited this long, what's another month or so?

mine has broken free. In transit to Doraville, GA which is my local sorting facility. Must be on a truck since it appears to be going straight to Doraville rather than through ATL airport.

Groan...looks like it sat in Memphis for more than 13 hours even though it was marked "in transit" at 3am. I guess it'll be delivered tomorrow.

I actually just went to the door and signed for my laptop; as far as the UPS tracking is concerned (and me!) it's wasn't even in Puralator's hands yet for delivery.

As entertaining as tracking flights from halfway around the world has been, All I really wanted was some accurate information about when I needed to be here to sign for it..

As luck had it, I was - but seriously, what is the point of the tracking system if you have to luck out into being around. I would rant but I has shiny new MBP (!!Finally!!).

Ugh...frustrating. I thought it was only me - mine hit "In Transit" at 2:45AM this morning and hasn't had anything happen yet, I kept freaking out wondering where they were sending it. This upsets me because there was a direct flight to my city from MEM at 3:15AM...I guess that same flight will happen tonight and that's when my package will transfer for it's expected delivery tomorrow...

Well my 17" i7, 7200rpm/500gb ended up arriving a day earlier than scheduled (today, rather than the 22nd).

FedEx called me this morning and asked if I'd accept delivery today. YES (duh). They showed up at 11:30am.

The machine is fantastic, no yellow screen. Haven't checked for dead pixels, but looks good so far. The 7200rpm/500gb drive is a Seagate. Oh well. I'd have preferred a Hitachi.

My $19 eSATA ExpressCard from OWC worked fine, through it the external drive appeared after rebooting, and I was able to use Migration Assistant to bring all of my existing data over.
 
Ordered on Friday, 16 April 12:40PM PT. No change in status yet, and I swear checking this thread to see when things are shipping/arriving is making my anticipation 100% worse! :D

Got Mine in This Morning

2.66 i7, 8GB Ram, 512SSD, 17", this thing is screaming. Just got here this morning at 9:30am, upgraded from a 2007 MPB pre-unibody. Dunno if it's the SSD making the difference, but the heat is virtually nonexistent, and the battery life is absolutely astounding. Still reading over 6.5 hours @ 75% charge, having over 10 hours at 100% charge. Been through 2 2-hour classes in college and have only used 25% of my batter; thats phenomenal for a 17 inch screen. I know others were commenting on speakers not being that loud; that is NOT the case with this computer. Holy crap, the little bass speaker in this thing makes it vibrate on the desk. GREAT sound and I am thoroughly impressed plus the inertial scrolling rocks. Thank God I ordered this thing; I love it!
