Ditto here to Atlanta. Did you upgrade shipping or go standard? I was told it cleared customs at 9:58 last night. I now have a new status saying Import scan, but still Louisville. flights to ATL only go at 3 & 4 a.m. but shoot, they could truck it down here and by ground service Louisville is usually one day service although they state it is two. regardless, no excuse for it being later than thursday, but i was told Friday too. Have always been fine with UPS, but watching this process has made me bitter.

Perhaps good news for everyone awaiting UPS shipments but whose boxes have been grounded in Louisville since yesterday: mine just cleared customs.

It's interesting that it's far cheaper for Apple to modify and customize these models in China and mail them to the rest of the world instead of having local factories (or even minor production facilities for modifying existing models).
I ordered the HR glossy on my 15". Does anyone think these are made from scratch different from the norm 15"ers, or do you think Apple merely pops out the old LCD and slaps in a new one? That you apparently can't buy the HR Glossy in stores (or can you?) would seem to suggest the latter.

UPS sucks, if given the choice I will never use them again.
My MBP has been stuck in Louisville since 928am yesterday and when you call, the people on the other end are completely useless and know less than you.
Mine is in Ontario now:

look @ my scans...apparently UPS says its not in Canada...wat the hell is wrong with them
Well, I'm guessing math is hard, logistics more so. Also, unless you're in Ontario and, maybe a little lucky, you'll get it tomorrow. I'm just trying to get some data on UPS flights *within* Canada, flightaware doesn't have anything.

Maybe the whole "dont know when it'll clear customs" is what gets them to say the extra day. In any case, let's hope tomorrow is indeed the day.
By the way, I keep posting all my history in an effort to address the "I got it!" notes that don't tell you any history of what or when they ordered - hope this helps

I think I'd believe the scans rather than the UPS customer service rep!
My MBP has been sitting in Louisville since 04/20 at 9:28 am....was expecting it to be in Toronto tomorrow....now I'm just hoping I get it before the weekend.....UPS customer service said Monday when I called and asked this morning....don't know what to believe anymore except that UPS sucks!!! I ordered Hi-res Glossy 15", 7200 rpm 500GB, on 04/14. First tracking info had it getting to me on 4/22.

What do you mean by anti-glare being anti-me?
It was far more harsh on my eyes than the glossy resolution. Surprised because I pretty much use matte LCDs at work and at home with my old iMac. But the resolution between the 15" & 17" hi res glossy and the matte made things far more difficult to read.
Beyond all the writing I do (and online classes), if I get back into web coding as much as I used to do, I need as little eye strain as possible. This has been a seriously thorn with every new Mac I've bought and sent back in the last month (although the first iMac had additional problems).
And, yes, I'm almost as myopic as a mole.
Hoping I can just return this MBP asap as the Applecare and other accessories are already here waiting to be shipped back (was told to return everything all at once).
I have to agree, i was using a matte screen before, and i would have to squint, i think the lack of brightness is worse than having glare just IMO
Disappearing Estimated Delivery Date
Yesterday, or maybe the day before, I'm losing track, it seemed my estimated delivery date vanished from my tracking record. It still isn't there when I go directly through UPS website tracking and enter the tracking number, but if I click on the tracking link from my Apple order, the web address is slightly different, and the estimated delivery date is there. which btw is tomorrow, even though the lady at UPS told me their info says it will be Friday. Mine is one of those that has been hanging out in Louisville since 9:30 a.m. yesterday. 11:50 got an import scan, but was told it cleared customs at 10 last night. Oh well. Tomorrow seems much better than Friday, but I was counting on today, which it originally had said.

Hey guys, So I'm typing this on my brand new i7 CTO high res glossy 15 inch macbook pro. It's AMAZING. I ordered on the 13th and got it this morning at 10:30. Anyone in Ontario, have hope. They will be at your door step soon.
Mine is in transit - ordered on the 15th and the estimated delivery is next Tuesday. Hoping for a miracle and Friday....
Look under your status line that says "In Transit - On Time", there is has tomorrow listed for me. I am hopeful we'll both be posting "got ours!" tomorrow.
LOL...look close @ the Mount Hope DEPARTURE SCAN..13:00...and the tracking result was 12:54..it departed before 13:00 came around....-.-
