Potentially good news for my fellow Ontario residents awaiting their MBP (like I am) and have been waiting for them to leave Louisville after more than 30 hours sitting there. See the departure scan from Louisville below @ 3:18pm today:

Looks like both our MBPs and probably many others destined for Ontario were scanned at that time.

Fingers crossed they're on a jet tonight to Hamilton/Toronto airports for delivery tomorrow.
 
Hotay then! Got my MBP an i7 HD 15" 4GB/256GB SSD unit. It's all set up with my build environments. This thing is fast. I haven't had a chance to test it against my overclocked Q6600 at home, that will come next. But for now, was able to test it against a client's Java build that I have been working on. Build takes 2:08 on the new machine, 6:16 on the old 2.5GHz Core 2 Duo laptop. Damn that's fast! And that's doing all of it on batteries, I forgot the power supply at home!

Interestingly, the SSD is an Apple-branded unit.

Another point of reference is the server build of the same sources takes 5 minutes. That's on two cores of a Xeon X7350 machine.

It will be interesting for the home test. The home desktop is an overclocked Q6600 running at 3.4GHz, and has geekbench scores within 10% of each other. That machine has a hardware RAID5 array (4 1TB Hitachi drives), so I expect that the disk performance is going to be the limiting factor there and I'm still going to get times over four minutes.

All this, just in time for summer travels! w00t!

I think a couple people that ordered theirs on the 15th already had theirs ship... Should be soon... I ordered mine @ 7:30am on the 16th and no change yet.

Fed Ex is a disappointment

While still "on schedule" with a delivery date of 4/22 before 4:30 P.M., I am very disappointed that my MBP has been sitting in Newark since 2:27 AM with no movement. I'm sure that there have been many FedEx trucks leaving the airport today any of which could have brought it closer to its ultimate destination. Shame on you FedEX
 
woohoo!! got mine a day early!! fedex showed up right when my bf was leaving for work, so lucky!! going to unbox now... :D :D :D
 
Mine showed up today, a day early -- FedEx said it would be tomorrow by 4:30 PM. Still doing initial setup. (Taping over the isight, loading WoW, all the stuff I need to do to make the machine useful. :p)
 
apparently those for Canada and stuck at Louisville since 9:28 yesterday are on the move....supposedly otw to Hamilton. Does any know what flight that would be? I hope it travel again quickly since they told me it was suppose to clear customer tomorrow. i hope I get it before the weekend.

Ordered the same machine (minus the custom HD and extra 4 GB of ram) a few hours later than you on the 16th. Still sitting at Not Yet Shipped. I hope it ships on Friday though!

Same delivery estimate too.
 
darn. I was for sure mine would show up today since everyone else have been getting theirs a day early...oh well. Mine says in transit at indiannapolis, indiana. I live in illinois so it should get here tomorrow before 4:30 like my expected date says.
 
Mines been stuck in Newark nj since 2am. Unless fedex sucks at updating their status, they've been real fricken slow moving 350 miles north to Portland.

You are right. I check with mine too...stupid UPS rep...they don't even know whats going on...I hope it goes by plane to Calgary after that and not by truck!
 
still not shipped =(

I ordered my new 15"i7 last Thursday and Apple hasn't even shipped it yet! Totally not a fan! Are there widespread delays?
 
Fedex suck

My MBP was in Seattle yesterday morning, but there was a 'sorting error' and they mistakenly sent it to Colorado. The estimated delivery date still claims it's going to be delivered to me in Seattle today, but I called them to ask what is going on and they told me about the error. So the delivery date is not based off the tracking information but is instead just a static guess.

I took a day off work to sign for this damn thing, now it won't arrive until tomorrow. I asked them if they could call me when they knew an approximate time, but they claimed that the couriers have no cells phones and all they could say was sometime tomorrow. Great customer service...

I'm in the same boat, I'm betting there will be a flight tonight to the west coast with ours. Courier flights rarely fly during the day.
 
My delivery date has disappeared, but it's in Canada now. I was supposed to get it today. Probably get it tomorrow which is ok because I will be home.

check the status through the tracking link in your apple order email. When I did that it still had the delivery date.
