Has your MBP shipped yet?

I'm stuck in basically the same situation. Ordered the 15" 2.4Ghz i5 with HR screen last Thursday, and it's been standing as "Not yet shipped" ever since. I also got basically the same message when calling Apple Store Support: "We have some delays, and we're doing whatever we can - don't worry, it will be there in time."

I really doubt that it will make it to Copenhagen by the 28th/29th if it's not even dispatched/shipped yet. It's like the Arrandales are jinxed: First there was Intel's shortage of chips, resulting in the horribly miserable wait for the actual update, then the volcano eruption causing further delays all over the world, and now they can't seem to be able to keep up with the orders.

I highly doubt I will get mine for that date either but it pisses me off cause they wont accept there's going to be issues to get it here probably. I'd rather them just say yeah there will be a delay your delivery date is x date. Still not shipped yet eugh.
 
might be lucky maybe they have got it all sorted - just checked order status again and after not being able to get onto the website for a long while i logged in and it says prepared for shipment. though im not getting my hopes up since its the 3rd /4th day its said this and then resorted back to 'not yet shipped' in the morning.

As you can see it arrived (although I hate FedEx for holding it in Anchorage for 30 hours before they delivered it as I only work about 5 miles from FedEx). But I'm returning it today. I ordered the Matte screen and I really don't like it. I had never seen one on a MBP but it's just like my '08 MB and even though there will be some glare issues I want the glass display. So, I start over. The new one is "Not Yet Shipped".

Do you have to cover the cost to ship it back to Apple...what's the process??
 
i just signed at 2:09 pm for my 2010 MBP 15" i7 8GB Ram and 7200 RPM HD with HR Glossy monitor. I placed the order at approx. 8:00 pm April 13th. I hope all the post on the anti-glare HR screens hasn't changed my mind on ordering a glossy HR, I mainly use only in indoor environment, office, bedroom, couch etc...outside is for playing, not working.....lol

BTW, UPS customer service really is a misnomer...when I called this morning to find out when I could expect to receive the package (since the estimated delivery date was AWOL from the UPS site for the past 3 days) they told me MONDAY....and then it arrived at my office 3 hrs. later So...don't even bother calling UPS...just go by the scans from their site or use www.trackthepack.com

If it helps, I had a 17" i7 anti-glare and switched it to glossy (for which I am waiting on) because of all the reasons you listed above and the grey trim bugged me. Also, I don't plan on pimpin my MBP outdoors anyways.

I just returned a 3 week old MBP 15" 3.06 C2D for this new MBP. The C2D had the glossy screen and I loved it. I have never had a matte screen. I'm sure when I open it I will love it as much. It is sitting on my desk at work screaming at me to open me, but I can't get off the phone with customers to open. I did track the serial number on appleserialnumberinfo.com and it was number 288 built in week 16 of april 2010.
 
I called UPS in the morning asking when it will be delivered. They told me it did not clear customs yet and it will be delivered Monday Apr 26. Couple of hours later i checked website and it shows out for delivery. So i called again and they told me it will be today. UPS customer service is pretty much useless.

Well guess what just came about 10 mins ago..and that I'm now happily typing away on!
Time to do software update and install FCP :eek:

FINALLY I'm enjoying my Hi-Res 15" MBP 2.66GHz Core i7 4GB RAM 500GB HDD @7200 RPM! It's gorgeous... I think there might be a <i>slight</i> yellow tint on the bottom, but it took me running the test and really staring to notice it... Everything else appears PERFECT! Now i just have dozens of applications to install... and I have to go to work today :(
 
Upon opening my new MBP I have noticed dirt/smudges on the clear wrapper that was around it. Also inside the white box I have noticed black specks on the cord and power adapter, also on the wrapper. Inside the wrapper the MBP looks great and clean but inside the box was several black specks, easily seen on the white cord and adapter. ??? Maybe volcano dust....lol
