I was happy to get the new processor, and talk with apple the day they came out, but this is getting a little frustrating. I have no idea when I am getting the darn thing, can I really rely on the Apr 28-May 4th dates since I have been waiting since March 31st. Pretty sure it must be the i5 shortages, but the 7200 ata drive seems to be part of the problem as well.

So...how did you guys order the new MBPs before they were released?

Oh ok, then it's a little disingenuous to say they've been waiting since their order date. They've been waiting less than 2 weeks like everyone else for the new machines.

I didn't, I was suppose to get the previous gen MBP, and due to budgets I had to order one before April 1st, even though I thought the new gen were coming out. Presumably Apple couldn't find me one, and/or stop producing them, and put a hold on my order until the new ones were released. They then sent an email and ask if I wanted a new MBP with i5, said yes the day they came out and I guess thats most of the story. Still can't explain what the hold up is though.

The European DESTINATION for the Macbooks?

In MY case, according to info received from Apple, my delivery date was advanced from 21./22.4 to 19.4. - its in the light of that, that I raise the question of the current position of the Macbooks! It's alright with me if they are delayed in a reasonable sense due to the volcano problem, BUT where are they, and what is the explanation of the curious tracking scheme from the company UPS - re my previous thread?

I've been constantly refreshing the order status page, hopefully it gets here before I've gotta send my current one off..

(the sleeve and remote I ordered shipped the next day though - just waiting in the depot for delivery, wish I could go pick it up, it's less than 20km from here!)

No, not really....

I ordered not even aware of the upcoming updates. Apple updated the order - I had no choice (not that I'm complaining). But a faster processor in China does me no good here. It's quite frustrating to see others who have ordered well after me have already received theirs.

I wonder if changing my shipping speed to regular instead of expedited would help. It seems like the people who've had their stuff shipped already used standard shipping.

That may be true. My 15" HR matte is now changed to prepared for shipping. I put the order on the 22.

I'm returning a 15" i7 hi-res matte and ordered the glossy. That exchange was placed on the 21st. My hi-res glossy is "Not Yet Shipped".

Well Im hoping for a Monday delivery but I'm guessing thats out of the question!

It turns out that mine is departing Anchorage,AK but where it's heading from there I do not know!

I have looked on two different tracking websites and both have produced conflicting information, one is saying that the MBP is heading to Germany and then the other is saying that my MBP is on its way back to Shanghai:eek:; Lets hope that the first one is the right one!:)
