Does this mean it cleared cusoms or is this just a move to get it to the lower sates then pass customs?
Great news for anyone in the midwest waiting for a new MBP that is currently sitting in Alaska. According to FlightAware there is a plane that generally gets into ANC from Taiwan every day around 1:00 AKDT then turns around in 2 1/2 hours and lands in IND a little after 12:30 am EDT. Well this plane is landing in approx 30 minutes and looking right on schedule to bring our MBP to the lower 48.

Yes IND = Indianapolis International Airport and there are several flights that go ANC to IND.
where FedEx might actually be purchasing the old Indy airport that was retired last year and converting the whole thing to a FedEx distribution point along with all of the old runways. Not sure on the validity of this however.
Well, at least there are several of us feeling the frustration: I ordered on the 14th, and the status hasn't changed a bit since then - the estimated date of delivery is still 28th/29th, and today, some Apple Customer Support employee assured me that my status should change to "Shipped" within 24 hours, but still nothing.
I too feel like I pulled down my pants and hit the button saying "Aim for penetration" on the Apple store - but there is probably nothing that anybody can do right now. Even though they obvously might be blamed for underestimating the hype and lust for MBPs following the longest delay of updates to the line since its introduction, they have been overwhelmingly unfortunate with the whole volcanic ash-thing and the apparent shortage of components, especially from Intel.
I really hope that something happens over this weekend - I'm beginning to get that obnoxious, yet strangely familiar feeling of waiting for something you don't know when is going to happen that I just recently got rid of...
Absolutely agree with you there. seems we are royally getting screwed over. Mine was meant to arrive 28/29. It's now 23rd and it hasn't shipped yet. Wouldn't mind but I hate the way they deny it will not arrive on time. I'll be annoyed when on 29th I ring and no updates. I'm close to cancelling my order right now.

The flight I thought was going to turn around to IND got routed to Memphis like every other friggin FedEx plane. This stinks I should have been on the flight yesterday now Im sitting in Alaska for 2 days.

I'm in the same boat. 15" i5 2,4 GHz with High-Res Glossy screen ordered on the 15th. Not yet shipped. Apple promised me MONDAY that it would go out within 24 hours. So much for that!

I ordered an i7 15" w/7200rpm on the 15th as well at around Noon. It is currently in Alaska with a status of "Int'l shipment, released."
I'm thinking you may have fallen under the category of i5 shortages announced on the front page of MR. Did you order an i5?
If your's is released it leaves ANC here shortly and you should have it tomorrow almost regardless of where in the US you live. UNLESS FedEx doesn't do Saturday's in their 2-3 day delivery. But I believe they do.

Mine was originally scheduled to ship between April 27 and May 3rd, but it shipped late on the 19th using the International Economy Shipping.
Well, it's on it's way back to Apple unopened so I hope that means someone else will get it.

Just left the FedEx location in ANC. You may be right afterall.

Again if Saturday is like any other day of the week you should have it. I am on my second order and I was watching all the orders leave ANC and get in the lower 48 during the night and on a delivery truck by morning.
I ordered my CTO 2.66 @7200 15" on the 18th at 7am and it still hasn't shipped yet... Is that normal? Or should I be worried.... It says it's due on April 27th - may 3rd and yet that doesn't seem realistic...

At first the operator said oh yea...anytime upto 7pm.
and then she was like hold on...and put me on hold..then she tells me she just check again arrival scan jsut means it is on the way from hamilton and it will be here monday.. and I asked her to double and triple check...and she did and told me the same thing....I left @ 5:15 a little early to pick up my wife...and we went for dinner. I just got home now...10:32...I got a stupid sticker saying the brown truck was here at 5:20....UGGGGGGGGG

lol that sucks man. I got mine today (my parents picked it up for me) i left calgary for phoenix 2 hours before it arrived how crappy is that!

I just got an email to say it's shipped!!!! YAY!!!!
But it won't arrive till around 10th may which is a pile of poop! It so better not be damaged else I will be fuming with them!
