forking out 40 quid just to phone them or something

What £40 to ring the number i quoted above!? Not likely.

EVEN if they did charge you £40 it would be per case and therefore you could ring as many times as you wanted for a single issue. if something doesn't break at the end of year one it is unlikely to go wrong there after and even if you did have an issue it would still have saved you £10 not going the route you have if what you have been told is correct which of course it isn't.

I've rung applecare before and was never asked to pay a thing. I've even taken a macbook to an apple service centre and didnt pay a jot. Not being funny but you have a 3 yr warranty and are therefore covered for any defective parts for that period as my email said PARTS and LABOUR.

Also there is no need to even ring them if you have a store or service centre you can go to so you were told a pile of crap.

i must of paid for something. something got extended....possibly only the phone support. he did say that if i didnt get it i would be forking out 40 quid just to phone them or something

im guessing its too late to get my money back, they already took it

guess ill be ringing on monday to cancel it then

i dont have any apple store nearby mind so any repairs would need to be sent away

seems like not only are apple severely slow in shipping things to you, they like to lie through their teeth and sell you services that dont exist.

Ring them and talk to them again but seriously i have asked the same question to over 5 apple people and had the same response. Its not only apple stores that fix apple things there are hundreds of apple authorised service centers that do to

Personally i say yes you have paid £58 for something you are perfectly legally entitled too! Electronic companies do this all the time its a known fact

Ask yourself why apple bother with a 3yr warranty if they are offering apple care at £50? surely they would sell more £50 applecare packages if they left the warranty at 1yr?

grrr they keep pushing my new mbp back... first it was supposed to go out on the 7th, then the 8th, now the 12th-14th! agh! now i won't get it until the 19th.

mine too! Mine is a replacement for the original 17" CD MBP, and was told they were going to expedite it. Called this morning, and they are now saying shipment by the 15th! I upgraded to the HR screen, getting anxious!

yeah i guess

bastards, he told me specifically that warranty was only 90 days then 1 year limted warranty. but you just showed me its actually 3 for the HE stuff anyway.

Ugh!

OMG! What a tease!! FedEx evidently DOES do Saturday delivery...but guess what? Still no MBP! Haha..they brought me my case instead! According to the tracking, my case got on the truck for delivery at 6:45 this morning...and my MBP (which sat in Memphis for over 12 hours, just so ya know) left Memphis for the local delivery location at 3:45am...it probably missed the truck by less than 2 hours!!!

So yeah, now I have a MBP Case, and my MBP is sitting in the very place that my case just came from...if only they had two trucks leaving at 2 different times :(

I'm getting really mad now....

I was charged for the MBP nearly 2 days ago and it still has not shipped.

me too, i got insta charged, ordered on tue evening, they debited my account wed morning and it just to say got squeezed out for delivery on the 8th (8th in the UK, would of easily been the 9th in china)

http://www.track-trace.com/

good site that... you can track any package seemingly with any of the big couriers

I mean I get it is annoying, I too wish I had mine, but it is the weekend and it is only a couple of days they charged you.

is the tracking number the same as the delivery reference number?

i put that in and it just comes back with blank

Long time lurker, first time poster....

Ordered a bottom of the line 15.4 with a glossy screen about 5 hours after the store came back and my order shipped yesterday to the UK.

I also draw a blank on apecode when using the 10 digit number. Also my 'Our delivery reference number' and the 'Carrier Tracking number' are the same?, is this normal?

depends when yours shipped if its 24hrs or less then yes it is normal

does anyone know whether the facility in shanghai is kept running on the weekends? I might finally be in favor of outsourcing if they do and my MBp gets here more quickly:rolleyes:

No offense but you need to read!!!

"Your tracking number should be 10 digits and start with '80'."

i did

you never know, it could be coincidence that two numbers start with the same two numbers and are both 10 digits long yet they are related to two different things

i did presume that that number was the tracking number, i did make the connection of starts with 80 and is 10 digits....but when i got no results i decided to ask if it was actualy the tracking number

is that such a crime?

I ordered at approximately 11:15 PST on June 5th. From my order status: "Ships by: Jun 6 - Jun 8, Delivers by: Jun 7 - Jun 11." It's June 9th and still no shipping information at all. I've called Apple 3 times to verify everything was going smoothly and all 3 times they said it was fine... This is starting to get irritating... This is my first mac and it better be worth it. I have faith that it will. Sorry for my vent. Proceed.

Hey guys, I thought I'd give you an update. I received a shipping email from Apple about 10 hours ago. Even though my order says "delivers by Jun 7 -Jun 11," here's what the email said:
"Shipment Date:
JUN 09, 2007
Delivers by:
JUN 13, 2007"
I paid for 2 day shipping... and the first Apple employee I talked to changed it to overnight... So may I possibly receive it by Monday?

Here's my current FedEx tracking info, btw:
"Jun 9, 2007 2:25 PM Picked up SHANGHAI CN Package received after FedEx cutoff
2:25 PM Left origin SHANGHAI CN
8:50 AM Package data transmitted to FedEx"

Either way, I'm just glad it's coming! I've been eye-ing an :apple: for over a year! :)

There is only one 10 digit number starting 80!

Mine just shipped, but i don't understand it.

Est. delivery 18 jun.

I ordered a MBP2.2 and a Sleeve.
Now i see in my status window:

Shipped on: Jun 9, 2007 via Merge In Transit NL
Delivers by: Jun 18, 2007

MBP 15/2.2/2x1GB/120-5400/128VRAM-NLD
Shipped on Jun, 9 [track]

BE-EZ LAROBE MBOOK PRO 15.4 GREEN-ZML
-- nothing --

My shipment method was "Merge in NL", so i thought the MBP and sleeve would merge and then ship to my home.

But in the shipment status page it looks like it's shipping to my town already. So ?! what to expect?

My saga continues as well... I 'sort of' cancelled my order this morning after learning that the store had it in stock. By 'sort of' I mean they claimed it had already been packed for shipping, and they would try to have the courier redirect it back to them but no guarantees.

So I went and bought one from Bluewater. Excitedly drove home, unpacked etc. only to notice that 1) the screen didn't seem very glossy. It was more glossy than my 15" MBP, but not what I thought it should be. 2) The hinges are quite loose. If you tilt the machine more than about 30 degress up the screen will flop down to about a 45 degree angle to the keyboard. As I often use my laptop propped up on my knees this is a real disappointment.

I phoned the store, had them hold another and drove back. We compared to all of the 17" machines in the store and they each did exactly the same. We then swapped it for another new machine and, again, it did the same. Their conclusion - it's the added weight/size of the 17" and nothing can be done.

As I was there I also had a look at the other glossy screens and realised mine definitely wasn't glossy. The sales rep said the stores don't get the hi-res glossy models, that's an online option only! So basically having checked and double-checked before driving down there (and cancelling my online order) I was told they had the glossy and it was in stock.

So now what?! I *might* get the one ordered online at some point next week, then I could compare (hinges and screen) and decide if it's better, then return the other under the 14-day policy.

*Exhausted and slightly annoyed at it all!*
