Wow sure enough that was our phones to a "T" in time. I kept just looking at UPS flights and the UPS99 was close alight half hour of departure time. Interesting

So curious it left Anchorage (scan at least) 7:18PM AKDR (4:18 CDT). Does not match any departure I can find from Anchorage at that time to Louisville assuming it went to Louisville but customs clearance was 5:51 EST so I assume Louisville but maybe I am not finding it because I used Anchorage to Louisville in my search parameters. No big dig more just curious the route is all ;-)

When I look at generic departures from Anchorage in the time frame I get the following ;-). nothing really close in time so wonder if the package got moved to a UPS special I am not finding. again just curious as it is in eastern time zone assuming Louisville but these three show up also:

Just something to do for my wait tomorrow for UPS delivery ;-). As a retired geologist/paleontologist I am always curious about how things worked/work than anything ;-)

Absolutely crazy indeed we are such apple nerds LOL and curious about the travel of our special "new toy" LOL
I think it’s fun and curious too. I did set up my UPS to deliver at the customer center since I am working at my post retirement part time job in the morning. I’d rather not tempt leaving it at the door or stressed about missing the knock.

I am retired and no part time jobs. have to drop my wife off nearby school in her post retirement subbing, but I am hope all day for the annual wait LOL

Its so funny just got text from Fedex and my return box also arrives by them tomorrow so both UPS and Fedex are visiting me LOL

Ugh, mine came on that Incheon flight and “has been cleared”, but the date now says “Date Tentative”.

Yes mine said 11-6, and even got email and text from MyUPS and they said tomorrow and just now as you pointed out while customs cleared the data has now gone to unavailable on both UPS app and MyUPS webpage hmmm I hate this. Hope they did not put on special flight further east from Illinois and now it might not make tomorrow. I was just starting to relax LOL another mystery

Stop torturing yourself and pick one up in-store :) If that is an option for you anyway.

Well phones are almost here somewhere to east, and for some of us no Apple store close to me. We are stuck with this type of ordering via mail

None show up on the website, not sure it’s worth driving around all day. I’ll just get it Friday if it doesn’t come tomorrow...

I hear you!

Ok the import scan stuff is done it showed back up for me at least and it is at Louisville as I originally suspected even if I cannot figure out the plane that got it there. Plenty of time to get to me by tommorw -- not that far away now. And says delivery on 11-6 again something about the transfer from customs clearance back into UPS system for delivery I suppose would love to understand how it all works the curious person I am LOL

Ok another update I can see more of what happened the UPS scans are catching up:

IMG_5975.PNG

The actual "arrival" in Louisville was 8:46 so it sat in the process form customs approval to "arrival" several h hours I bet there are more people there now and thus things really moving I suspect. Have seen this before but it is interesting to observe and speculate on what is going on even if I understand little of UPS logistics LOL

No problem it showed back up something about the moving from customs scan to back in delivery scan process. It is as I suspected in Louisville Ky the main UPS hub. I have had stuff there Sunday evening and they move early Monday and still show up that day in east central Illinois at my door. So it will be here on time now I get to see do they go up through Indiana to Indianapolis (hour to my east) as they often do, or across Southern Indiana to I-57 up thru Illinois (I have seen this also) often sits at a hub southwest of me on I-57 and then moves in early Am to my home -- Urbana,Il. always an interesting process even if I don't know the logistics that determine which route my package goes. Given this is not launch day and probably smaller batch of new iPhone X's I would not be surprised to see the second route. When it is a big batch like last years 7plus I got launch day it came via the first route.

I’d stop it. This happened to me last year. I was trying to restore via the cloud. I called Apple support. It looked like I had most everything anyway. So I stopped it. Might’ve lost some pics, but important ones already shared on IG or FB, anyway. This year I’ll restore via iTunes (encrypted) on my laptop.

I ordered on Sprint on 10/27 10:11 PM I went by what the website said..

Apple iPhone X 64GB - Space Gray Ships by 11/14 if ordered before 10PM CT on 10/27

Ships by 11/21 if ordered between 10PM CT on 10/27 and 3PM CT on 11/2

Ships by 12/8 if ordered after 3PM CT on 11/2

I called Sprint today because a person here said they ordered on 10/31 and it's going to arrive this week.. And meanwhile they are telling me a date between November 27th and Dec 17th.. I said in that case I might as well cancel and just go in a store and get it.

We can't leave any apple products.. if you try it just says it's not able to be driver released.. just to let you know (i'm a driver)

Anyone know where my phone is likely to go next after Louisville? I’m in Oklahoma City. Can’t remember last year plus last year I was in the batch that ended up getting ours on Saturday 8 days after launch due to delay so pretty sure it had more domestic stops than usual to get it to me.

I am not sure I live in Champaign-Urbana Illinois (100 miles west of Indianapolis). mine most always come by truck up thru to Indianapolis next and then leave early in AM for Urbana where the main UPS hub is for the twin cities of Champaign and Urbana (home of U of Illinois )

On rare occasion it comes across southern Indiana and then I-57 to a hub SW of us an hour and then does the next thing early am to Urbana. Not sure what ones on such route to Oklahoma City might do. Do you get any scan/tracking to indicated stops along way that you recall at all?

I don’t recall. Most of my UPS packages ship domestic.

So I’m still stuck with a Nov 15-22 shipping date for my Silver 256 X. I wish Southern CA/Orange County had more stock so I could get more mine and cancel the preorder...

I got a two day bump for the 17-24 when I called Apple to reserve my place in line because of AT&T’s delays preorder night. There reservation page wasn’t working and I was afraid my ordered would be cancelled so they gave me two extra days..I’d rather have a ship date of 11/6 though...

Almost sounds the same as UPS ground in terms of delivery time on packages. I am not sure what happens to my apple stuff after it arrives in Louisville but seldom does it fly (maybe once I am suspecting). Usually by ground at this point to Champlain-Urbana

After scrolling through my gazillion posts from last year, looks like last year my phone went from Louisville to Kansas City. Then Tulsa. Then Oklahoma City.

Update: Hmmm...appears there are no UPS flights from Louisville to Kansas City today.

Interesting. I am only 240 miles from the airport where UPS is at Louisville so they seldom fly at this point but sometimes I see no more movement til this evening when they find some truck heading our direction -- at least to Indianapolis most of time. Once there its only hour away and leaves early enough in Am to make it here.

Maybe they don't fly but find a truck to Kansas City which takes some time. I remember someone last year was in west coast it came here and then the delays (flying or truck) meant it did not make launch day.

Egad. That’s an 8 hour drive. I hope not.
