In my family the husband is required to relinquish items that the mast... ..err um wife.. wants more. Bad husband, or good wife in this case? :p

But it works both ways. In my case my wife apparently doesn't want to upgrade from the 7 to the X, so I have an X-tra I'm selling locally or returning.
The joys of being single. :)

In San Francisco they stole $370000 worth
Hopefully they get caught. 300 more people in line would have gotten phones yesterday.

setting up my iPhone X now ;)

preordered 10/28 12:20am 11/17-11/24

Logged onto Apple this morning and saw every store had availability.

Canceled my preorder. Waited 5 mins for ATT Next to reset and reserved for pick up at 6:05am.

Never ordering through Apple app again. Id rather take my chances for an in store pick up the day after a launch.
Almost the same situation here. I pre-ordered at 12:12:AM on 10/27 and got the 11/17 - 11/24 delivery date as well. Early Saturday morning, I woke up and saw that my model was available for store pickup at every store in town. Cancelled my online order then proceeded to pay in full and choose a store for pickup.

My husband is still 11/16-24. Not seeing any new status in stores today yet. Mine should be here tomorrow (part of the Inc group from last night), but wanted to help him today. Sigh.

I waited for 2.5 hours at an Apple Store today and walked away with nothing. Going to try tomorrow at 6AM to order for in-store pickup. That's apparently when it opens online. Still no movement on my order.

Why did you have to wait so long and leave with nothing? The store I went to went through the line and made reservations for phones. They would tell you if they didn't have what you wanted so you weren't stuck waiting. My total line time was 3.5 hours but i knew in the first 30 minutes that I was getting the phone I wanted (took that long for the employee to get to me).

No arrival scan in Anchorage for my phone that has 8:15 Incheon departure scan. Thinking it didn’t actually make the 7:05 flight but will make next one, but the next flight isn’t showing up for me on FlightAware, yet.
The flight from Korea UPS 99 continues on to Louisville after making the stop in Anchorage. No scans there, but most likely enroute to Louisville with 8:46 AM Sunday arrival. My guess 50% of getting Louisville scan Sunday. More focused discussion on Nov 6 deliveries in the thread: Nov 6 Deliveries - UPS Real-Time Flight Tracking.

Okay. Thanks. Just thought phones would have to clear customs in Anchorage so there’d at least be a scan for that.

You're welcome. They do have to clear customs but that's no guarantee UPS did a scan for it. The customs check probably involved looking at the plane manifest and giving it an ok.

It would be good if places like eBay and Swappa would register the serial numbers of phones being sold...then anything that gets blacklisted could be highlighted quickly and the authorities looped in.

Hopefully these guys got caught on a traffic camera or something so the feds find them quickly (so innocent people aren't burned by buying these online).

Still nothing on my IUP orders. 256 Silver and 256 SG ATT. Local stores had plenty of stock. Don’t want to cancel and mess up the IUP enrollment or get a hard pull again for no reason.

I just finished a mortgage and this is nonsense. When 1 or more companies do a hard credit pull 1 or more times is does not have impact on your credit score (more than it should). They assume that the multiple pulls are for the same reason. Like shopping for a mortgage. In this case it would show the same company 2 times over the course of a few days, not going to hurt anything.

Well, was the first time that I pre-order, but I don't think that will do it again:

I've seen a lot of comments saying that it isn't worth pre-ordering since you can just walk into a store and get one even hours later. This is the first year I can remember that this is the case. Maybe Apple has changed the way they allocate phones, in which case this strategy would work. Maybe this a strategic change by Angela.

If they go back to the way things were in the past next year, you'd have to get in line hours (days?) before opening to score a phone. Last year it took me a week of checking the 10 stores within 50 miles of my location to find my phone, and this was two weeks after launch.

It depends upon your risk tolerance. Have a guaranteed phone if you pre-order, or chance getting one in the store.

I cancelled and picked up on launch day. I'll still end up pre-ordering next time too i'm sure. If I don't get a launch day phone then i'll just try in-store again. Last time I ordered the 128GB Jet Black 7+. I ended up a week after launch so it wasn't too bad. That phone took forever to be available in-store.

I agree with the sentiment of most folks though. There is no reason pre-order folks should be waiting weeks to get their phones while walk-in customers have their pick. That being said, I get it. They need to have some inventory in their stores, they also need to have pre-orders to cut down the long lines at stores (probably have plenty of issues in malls with security etc.). It just seems like they allocated way too many for in-store rather than fulfilling pre-orders this time.

I was able to get my iPhone 7 Plus by picking up at an authorized Apple retailer last year on launch day as well. I only pre ordered this year because it was supposed to be the best way for IUP customers. Well, I'm through with IUP. I'm refusing shipment of the iPhone X I preordered since I went to a local Target and picked up my iPhone X on launch day. No wait, in and out in 20 minutes, just like last year. I'm sure some of this depends on location, however Nashville isn't exactly a small city, and trust me, there are plenty of hipsters here (aka scum) :)

Mine Couple hours from my home. 11/6 delivery
