This!! I’m glad isn’t doing anything about it because they shouldn’t. Demand was high for the phone and the odds of getting them on launch day were slim. Sites were overloaded and the App Store app didn’t come up. It was what to be expected. Dates slipped and people are calling Apple to complain, sadly this is what phones have done to us these days. Lol

I mean if it makes you feel better. I run a YouTube channel and I’m the one that should be upset about it and I actually made a video about my preorder fail but is it the end of the day no, will I get my phone, yes just not when everyone else is and I’m ok with that. But I guess some folks must have a phone release day. I understand the hype and excitement but sheesh come on people.

I also have a youtube channel and rely partially on the ad rev. Thus, a launch day phone is necessary. Will be waiting overnight in line if I can't secure the 3rd.

To each is own. I know I’m a smal youtuber and even though I would like to depend on the revenue, actuality is you still can’t depend on most bigger Youtubers. Regardless their videos will be out probably the day before. Just have to rely on my hardcore subs to watch it regardless of when I put it out.

Yeah if that’s you’re only course of income I get it completely and I can’t knock that at all but if it isn’t and you just want the device day 1 for self satisfaction then that’s when ones needs a hobby. This topic just sparked a good video lol. I think I’ll shoot it tonight haha.
 
Same phone, same time for me. I'm not holding out for 11/3 delivery though, I plan on waiting in line at my local AT&T store Thursday night because otherwise it will be the first time I don't have the new iphone on launch day

Are you on the iPhone Upgrade Program? If so, how are you going to get the iPhone X on launch day - since you already ordered online?
 
I thought you said you got a case from Apple? If not, just tell them how furious you are with them and say is there anything you can possibly do to fix this mess or make it even just a bit better. Then they will usually offer the free case, or if you wanted, one of those charging stands, or I bet this year one of the wireless charging pods. Just be firm and keep bitching until you get what you want.

Haha, I can definitely see making a video out of the last few comments and pages for that matter of this thread. And I agree with you, if you just want the phone from day 1 for self-satisfaction, then you need to look at yourself and get a hobby.

This is the best attitude to have! Unless there's truly an issue/error with someone's order, they shouldn't be bugging Apple non stop trying to get a date bump for no reason.
That’s me, I originally have 11/3 pickup but it got bumped into 11/17-24 when I got the email.

You’re not entitled to anything. It’s a phone. Get a grip on reality. Sure it sucks that you didn’t get a launch day delivery. But if this is the worst thing that ever happens to you, I think you’ll be ok.

Well, I just called Apple and talked to a Apple Advisor (Tier 1, not even a Senior Advisor) and got a pair of AirPods essentially free. They could only offer me a "goodwill gesture" of $150.00 and the AirPods are $159.00, so I had to pay the $9.00 difference plus tax, and my order includes 2 day shipping so it is saying on my account that I will get them 11/2. I will take AirPods for the mess I went through this year plus the absolute hell I went through last year. Entitled was the wrong word, I admit that. I should have said whatever Apple can do to alleviate or make the situation better. One thing, as a grown man I know is that in this world you are ENTITLED TO NOTHING! Good Frank Underwood quote, haha...but still true.

Ok my Apple senior support advisor has been actively contacting me today and we’ve been going back and forth. I just gave her my original reservation number again and she said she needs it to “get everything documented for my case”. We’ll see...
 
Let's try to take this conversation on a more positive direction. In the past, on various launches, Apple has under promised and over delivered. Last year I ordered a Jet Black 7+ on the morning of pre-orders with a confirmation email at 3:05 eastern. The delivery time frame I received then was 1 - 2 weeks delivering 9/26-10/3. However, I received shipping notification on 9/18 for delivery on 9/22, only 6 days after release.
My experience with airpods was better. Airpods went on live for sale on 12/13 last year. That date was a surprise to everyone. I was in a meeting and didn't order until about 40 minutes after they went on sale and received a delivery timetable of 4 weeks. Ended up having them arrive on 12/28.
So here's hoping we get moved up soon.

The point is I want my phone in the day I oiriginally got, which is 11/3.

People are getting freebies now, cases and now AirPods. I wish I got an AirPod but I’m happy the guys are getting compensation. Apple knows they screwed up.. better believe that!!!

Been in touch with her starting Saturday. She was off yesterday so now I’m chatting with her again since she’s back in the office.

Yes, ask to talk to customer service and just explain your situation. I had a really nice, younger kid named Zach who was absolutely amazing. I mean this took less than 15 minutes. So he was very efficient at his job. He said that the Apple higher ups have basically given them free reign to offer a "gesture of goodwill" because they know they messed up big time with the preorders. Please do not be pissed at me if you call up and get nothing, but if you tell them your true story of how everything got messed up and you are mad that it happened you may get something. I kind of had some "backup" because he saw my notes from last year from my iPhone 7 Plus incident and read them and was like wow, you went through a lot last year, lets get this fixed. He saw I already bought a case, so he did not ask me if I wanted a case...he asked if I wanted a charging pad, some other accessories, and I was like how about AirPods and he said let me see what my computer says and that is when he said he could only give a "gesture of goodwill" for $150.00, and I would have to pay the remaining $9.00 and I was like DEAL!

FYI: Also, just for reference...they are not allowed to give gift cards. I am not doubting that some people who got gift cards did, maybe they spoke to an Apple Senior Advisor who CAN give gift cards, but Tier 1 normal Apple Advisors cannot give them.
