I ordered mine one minute after yours and havent seen any change. Same exact model. :mad:
 
free covers, shipping upgrade

placed my orders at 1:40am PDT and 2:36am PDT, both for white 64 GB wi-fi only models. received 3-5 shipping. both ipads remain at Not Yet Shipped
while it's annoying that other people are getting theirs and mine has yet to be shipped, it's still well within the quoted ship time so there's not really much room to complain about not having it.
where there IS room to complain is some people getting free covers and/or shipping upgrades and others who placed orders at or around the same time just having to wait it out.
called CS this AM, spoke with Amber who was more than happy to comp my 2 leather smart covers (that have already shipped) and upgrade me to 2-3 day shipping. She was great, I consider myself lucky that she answered the phone and not one of these other CS reps that others have been complaining about.
Of course this doesn't mean my ipads are getting out of China any faster, it just means that once they do leave they will be on a faster track than before I made the call. I can't complain, I'm happy that sometime this or next week I'll have my orders and that I don't have to wait 4-5 weeks like everyone else hoping to order online now.
I think everyone should be calling to request a complimentary cover. The worst they can do is say no. Companies are not required to offer the same deals to all customers, so it is incumbent on all customers to ask for the best deal available to them. My call netted me $138 in refunds and upgraded shipping and neither the iPad 2 or smart covers are even late yet. Sound good? Make the call!

iPad 2 Shipment

Well the CR told me last night this mine would ship today and the order status just change to "Prepared for Shipment" at about noon EDT. This is a 64GB Black WiFi ordered at 1:00AM PST. So now will it make it by Friday? I guess the CR gave me the correct information. Let's hope is 2 day shipping is correct as well.

What's the best approach to use when talking with CS about getting reimbursed for a cover that's already been purchased and shipped? In other words, how do I convince them to do it?

From this thread and the other one, it looks like they are working through the Black 64 GB WiFi models now.

and I ordered my same model 8 minutes before that, status is still NYS, but hoping for it to change at least some time today

Ordered 1 16 Black Wifi / 1 64 Black Wifi
1:04 AM PST 3/11/11 (launch morning).

16GB arrived today
64 still "not yet shipped".

Went to the apple store this morning.
They had several 16 wifis (less than 5)
then a small chunk of verizon / att 32 / 64's.

I sold the 16 wifi on ebay
bought a vzw black 32 and a vzw white 64
selling the vzw 64 to help recoup the difference in price between the 16 wifi and 32 vzw for my wife. she yelled at me this morning ...so why not do something nice for her

That's fair. It is worth noting, though, that tomorrow is the 5th business day, so I'm confident that a set will ship out tonight, hopefully mine included.

I don't know : / I still have to do that myself. I guess the same as the other suggestion I made- just tell them your friend or relative who is next to you just called and they did it for him and his order.

Hey Brother, we're in the same boat together. Gives me hope that my particular order isn't screwed up because it's affecting other people too.

I wonder what 'Prepared for Shipping' even means. On it's face you'd think it meant 'came off the line and was boxed', but what could take 55 hours between that point and fedex picking it up?
 
They just credited my bank account back for my 64GB Black AT&T.... I'm calling CS and demanding a free case!

Called and expressed my frustration and they updated me to 2 day shipping and got a free wireless keyboard.
