Well if Apple is to comply to the timeframe of delivering between 3-5 business days (for us who ordered EARLY online on March 11) they'd better ship out today.

We'll see........

Why? Today is business day number four (Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday), and they may not even count Friday since the orders were placed Friday, so conceivably as long as they ship by week's end, they're within their timeframe.

true...

I stand corrected......again......I actually thought today was Thursday!

Well, as of today, my iPad2 still has NOT YET SHIPPED. I ordered at 4:30am on release day and can't understand why people are getting shipments and mine hasn't. Could it be because I didn't order the second the order page came online at 3:45am?

Well, now I don't know if Im getting my iPad 2 shipped out anymore!

You see, I checked my bank (online), and now I see that the amount that was supposed to be debited or paid to Apple has completely disappeared! Technically I have that money back in my account. (Last time this happened, I ordered some cable from BestBuy, and since it was backordered and took like 4 weeks to be in stock, the amount was coming in and out of my account until I canceled the order completely.)

Has this happened to anyone else? Could the iPad2 be "backordered"?

Bud- have you read my posts here? I called. They ARE backordered. It is normal- your hold dropped and you will be formally charged when it ships. For some reason, mine was a fluke and they charged me before it ships (not a hold, a charge). You're fine.

No, unfortunately, there is no rhyme or reason. It is not first come first served.

Unless yours says something different....

It likely says SHIPS in 3-5 business days.

But DELIVERY is going to be after that. Mine says Mar 18-25 for Delivery...and having ordered a lot of Apple product this way thus far...you can almost be guaranteed those dates are accurate. Like you, I ordered early AM on March 11.

I fully expect to see mine shipped tomorrow (Thurs), at the max of the deadline. And will get it next week sometime.

Its just a gadget....chillax.

Exactly.

Phew!

Well your post is really like a needle in a haystack....so nO....i did not see it........but I'm glad that is all cleared up....

Ordered @2:51a CST

Ordered a 32g 3G white at 2:51a CST and no ship confirmation yet.
I am not as beefed as some of the others on this forum because later that same evening I was shopping at Target with my wife and low and behold....
they had Ipad's in stock and just what I wanted; 32g 3g white! No lines, no hoopla. There wasn't even another customer in the department when I bought it.
Anyway, the one ordered online is still MIA, but I did receive the leather smart cover yesterday that was ordered at the same time.

While I am disappointed that the iPad2 has not yet shipped, I am happy that it is such as success and selling like hotcakes. Somewhere in there is a message to Motorola, Samsung, and the other tablet manufacturers about the quality and usability of their product. (Its certainly why I no longer have an android tablet):apple:

I don't see why it is frustrating to see others get theirs a few days before you. I mean really, the impatience on some of you just appalling in the least. That American greed just kicking right in and it is sickening. You don't get to play with your toy. Boo hoo :mad::mad:

You will get yours, play with it for a while. And move on to the next must have toy and most likely proceed to have a whine fest about that as well.

I will wait patiently and if it does not come by the time stated, I *might* complain to them.

Sure you understand. People want what they want right away. I am not sure how that makes someone bad, stupid, or any other sort of juvenile insult.

Reading over several of your posts in the last 2 days, you seem quite angry at people who state they are "frustrated" at waiting hours and not getting an iPad. Calling them babies and other names towards numerous posters stating it. Granted, none of these posters said anything really over-the-top...no suing Apple or anything

So my question is....why exactly are you acting so incredibly angry at something that has little to nothing to do with you? Are you doing it for the same reason that most children do it online which is to vent b/c of some immature reason?

Who here would not be "frustrated" at not receiving something that they waited for...for hours? I mean, WHO would NOT be? That is not unusual, that is quite common and I would be willing to bet that every single person on this forum who stood in line for hours would be annoyed at such a situation.

Well, just received my shipping notification today. A Black 32GB Wi-Fi only with no engraving, ordered 11 Mar 11 at 01:05am PDT.

Says delivery no later than 22 Mar 4:30pm, via International FEDEX. AND it is being shipped from SHENZHEN China. So looks like Apple did not have many, if any, iPads stored in the U.S. for those that ordered online.

I have a feeling a lot of people will be receiving their shipping notification today, as it is the 4th business day for those of us that ordered early on 11 Mar.

Yes, no worries. The initial amount that showed as pending was the authorization. As soon as they authorized that you had the funds, the hold was removed. They won't charge you until they ship. Same thing happened to me, that's the explanation I got from a couple of CSRs.

Thanks for the good post, but "Hours"? Try days. I ordered 12:45 AM PST 3/11 no engraving and am STILL waiting for even a "prepped to ship" status, while people who ordered HOURS after me with engraving, no less, have had theirs delivered as early as yesterday. So yes, to the other poster, this is certainly not an over-the-top reaction when one has paid $500-plus dollars for a product and expect first-come-first serve.

Many who tell you and others to shut up about waiting in line for hours/days are the same people who can be found in FedEx threads during launch days blasting FedEx for not delivering their phone early in the morning and how they will SUE FedEx if their phones are not there at noon!

The thought of a single poster on this forum not being aggravated if they waited in line for hours/days for a product they wanted and then not getting it AND not being slightly annoyed or aggravated? Well, makes me laugh.

They are against this because we are questioning the almighty Apple :apple: (which I normally love, by the way)! ****, get real, I paid $575 and they are working for me now.

expedited shipping

i just spoke to a very nice cs rep named donna. explained to her i was worried that since i ordered my 64g att at 106 pst and other who ordered much after me were getting thier ipads.

she gave me the standard bs about 3-5 days. also just fyi friday did :mad:NOT:mad: count as business day. she did however tell me that my ipad has been bumped to expedited shipping already. so we could make the assumption that if u have the 3-5 shipping window you are already at priority shipping.

good luck folks.

enjoy the toy

My white 64GB AT&T ordered on March 11, 1:05am PT, finally shipped.
I received the shipping notice at 7:20am this morning after being stuck in "Prepared for shipment" for almost 3 days.
According to Apple delivery date is March 23, Fedex says March 22.

I had a nice Donna CS rep about a year ago, if that was her, she is sweet and will honestly help you the best she can. I love Donna! (at least the one I had)

Same here still not yet shipped.

Anyway they can get Charlie Sheen to chime in, then there might be a response from Apple?

just curious... was yours engraved, and is it coming from china?

Not comforting

I just spoke with Johnny Apple in customer service at Apple. I didn't make any demands or an insinuation, I stated simply that I had a concern that my order partially shipped and the 3-5 day window ends basically tomorrow, and asked if there was anything I could do to ensure the orders proper fulfillment, and asked to see if there was anything wrong with the order.

He advised that he didn't see anything wrong with the order or how it was set up. He advised it was open and still in the 3-5 day window. Fine with this.

He then advised if I don't see it shipped by next week (woah wait a minute there bud, that wasn't the deal), that I should call, and also go to an Apple store and try to get one...then call and cancel my open order. (seriously?), then I voiced concerns saying that that didn't specifically sound like something that's good business to purchase something online expecting delivery and then expect to have to go buy it in store and cancel my order?

He had nothing else for me, I told him I'd be calling tomorrow to speak with a supervisor if my order is still not shipped.

End of line.

i wouldnt count friday. it doesnt specify pst business hours or est or hong kong time. shenzhen is 12 hours ahead of est and while that would be 4 pm there at this point i wouldnt be surprised if they didnt count it.

I disagree. When given the estimate of 3-5 days time zone differences should be taken into account prior to giving the estimate.

I work for a company that is based in EST in the US. We have employees that work overseas and when it comes to due dates / timelines, they go by our time. If you promise a client that something will be done in 2 business days the excuse of, oh the person working on that is in a different time zone so it has only been 1 business day for them just won't fly.
