My 64gig, 3G, AT&T, black still says not yet shipped this morning. I'm getting a little aggravated. Going to give them thru tomorrow then I'll call CS.
 
I feel for you all. I have my iPad 2 already, but ordered one for my wife yesterday and got 4 weeks to wait for that one. :eek:

Apple has got to speak up and tell its customers what is going on. I mean is it that demand has surpassed even their wildest expectations? Are there manufacturing issues? Is is a part shortage due to the disaster in Japan?

It's okay. Just tell us!

Verizon 32GB black ordered @ 3:03am central on 3/11/11 has moved to "Prepared to Ship"! Now just ship!
 
Is there a pattern here? It appears from this thread that those who ordered early on March 11 are the ones that are not shipping? On other threads I have seen people who ordered much later and even had the Ipad engraved have already received their Ipads.

OR...those who ordered in the middle of the night are the ones posting on message boards and the ones hitting refresh every 30 seconds.
 
Haven't received shipping notice for mine yet, but then again, I ordered fairly late in the process.

STILL "NOT YET SHIPPED"! 16GB white Wifi ordered 12:45 am PST on Friday 3/11. Was promised my CS last night that i would ship TODAY but it is not even prepped yet! See how most people's were prepped for DAYS before shipment- I guess I can expect mine to ship Saturday!

Your order not getting shipped out before others who ordered after you could be, for instance, a delay in your bank or credit card company providing approval back to Apple to process your order.

Nope- Already been CHARGED FULLY. Not a hold- charged. Used debit- the money has been taken from my balance. Again, NOT A HOLD OR PROCESSING. This happened RIGHT AWAY. I checked as soon as my order was placed. 10 minutes later, they already had my Smartcover prepared for shipment and I received it the next day!


Using your analogy lets say you have 100 people standing in line at an Apple store and for simplicity sake we'll say they only accept cash. They currently only have 80 in stock but the warehouse across town has plenty in stock and a truck has been dispatched to deliver more to store if needed. As people are about to be handed their iPad the seller ask to see their cash. If you don't have the money in hand no iPad given to you.

Had money in hand, bud, wrong again. They TOOK THE MONEY that second. It wasn't even charged - it was debited. No holds, no pendings.


Guess my point is order time may have no meaning when potentially tens of thousands of orders are being processed every second and variables beyond Apples control may delay your order.

Maybe for some people- not for my situation.
 
Guess I need to switch to your bank if you can drill down online to the exact second a transaction took place.

I too paid by debit and for several days the transaction was "processing" (with amount removed from account) but this morning transaction gone and money back in account. (just as it is supposed to work)

Yes, you should. I have online banking. It updates to the minute. Perhaps it was a fluke, but say what you will, the account has been drained $575.

What seems so very wrong is that people who ordered later have already received their iPad, and many of us who ordered early are still sucking wind. It is not as if Apple isn't aware of this perceived inequity, its that they just don't seem to care which is making customers unhappy.

Just been on the phone with another CR representative who said expedited/2-3 day shipping wouldn't even help at this point. I just don't recall how my order got pushed back from March 15th - 22nd to March 18th to 25th. It's very annoying to find that my girlfriend's order was just given a tracking number; and, she ordered her's 45 minutes after mine. Time to probably get my father and unload a can of hell on them. I am going away next week on a two week trip and I was hoping to have it before then; and, knowing Apple, it's going to come one day after I leave.

You should. You'll probably get the expedited shipping AND a free smartcover. Not to mention, the more we complain, the better the experience will be the next release. It's our duty.

It likely says SHIPS in 3-5 business days.

But DELIVERY is going to be after that. Mine says Mar 18-25 for Delivery...and having ordered a lot of Apple product this way thus far...you can almost be guaranteed those dates are accurate. Like you, I ordered early AM on March 11.

I fully expect to see mine shipped tomorrow (Thurs), at the max of the deadline. And will get it next week sometime.

Its just a gadget....chillax.
 
Update

Just spoke to customer service and they did verify the expedited shipping for those that ordered on the 11th early. She did say however that all orders are coming from overseas so im not sure which is correct on that one.

Well, now I don't know if Im getting my iPad 2 shipped out anymore!

You see, I checked my bank (online), and now I see that the amount that was supposed to be debited or paid to Apple has completely disappeared! Technically I have that money back in my account. (Last time this happened, I ordered some cable from BestBuy, and since it was backordered and took like 4 weeks to be in stock, the amount was coming in and out of my account until I canceled the order completely.)

Has this happened to anyone else? Could the iPad2 be "backordered"? :eek: :confused:
