Has anyone received a shipping confirmation with tracking showing any units shipping from the USA, or are they still shipping from china? I saw some posts that CS reps had mentioned some units would be shipping from local distribution points in the USA.
 
Okay, I just called customer service as well, to see if I could get this priority shipping or expedited deal… wasn’t given that option but did get a free smartcover, which is ALREADY PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT while my ipad2 continues to gather dust somewhere. I picked a green smartcover although I guess I should have picked a leather one instead since they’re more expensive :p
 
My status finally changed a few hours ago. I ordered black 64GB WiFi @ 1:02 AM on 3/11, and it now says Prepared to Ship, but I know that doesn't necessarily mean much. But even the false sign of progress is something.

I have called Apple 3 times with no luck.
 
My black 64gb wifi status has changed to prepared for shipment. Now hopefully it arrives by Friday. Plus there better not be any dead pixels or bleeding light on this thing! :mad:
 
I think my white wifi 64GB is finally about to ship, the money is gone from my account again and I just got an email receipt for the free expedited shipping I got from a phone rep. Nothing has changed on apple.com but I am sure that will change soon, why would they send me a shipping receipt and take the money if it wasn't almost ready to go out... oh I ordered mine seconds after the order went live btw...

So I got a free leather cover and expedited shipping, I think that is a pretty fair trade off for having to wait a few extra days.
 
I ordered at 2am PDT on the 11th - Black 64GB Wifi. I just got the "Prepared for Shipment" status. Seems like there are more 64GB models going out than there has been.
 
ROFL. I love how people are complaining about theirs not shipping for 3-5 days.

I just talked to Apple customer service again about my "not yet shipped" order placed at
1:27 am PST March 11 for a 64gb GSM unit. Raymond agreed that it should be "prepared to ship' at this point, and admitted he had not a clue as to why it wasn't. He had me call Apple in California to talk to a "supervisor", who gave me the standard line about five days to ship and delivery by March 25 is "on time", but had to admit under questioning that it was odd that orders placed later were being delivered while some, like mine, languish. In other words, they are clueless as to why this is the case!
 
My CS rep (the latest one, at least) said that she upgraded me to overnight (next business day shipping). My order now shows Shipping Method: Priority. She said that if the iPad happens to ship from the US, I will get it the next day. But if it ships from China, 2-3 days is the best it will do.

Anyone else here order before 1 AM PST and are still in "Not yet shipped"?

Ditto-the 4th CSR just told me they don't offer expedited shipping for the iPad 2. However, he did give me the number for corporate so I can tell them my "concerns". I'm sure that will be equally fruitful. He also said that the 5th day is TOMORROW (Thursday) so his company has told him that it's first come first served and my iPad will be shipping tomorrow. Of course he has no access to any such shipping information as my status continues to be NOT YET SHIPPED, 5 days and soon to be 13 hours after my order was processed. I don't care what they call business days. Friday March 11 was a business day, and I also received and update on my cover on both Saturday and Sunday so clearly those were business days as well. I pointed out several times to no avail that they are NOT following any first come first served process and he said his company told him they are and he trusts his company. I pointed out, albeit calmly, that his company is lying to him.

Guess where the corporate number took me? Right back to customer service. The new rep said he doesn't know why the other rep gave ma what he called a corporate number because they're not given a corporate number for complaints, only an address. He also said he doesn't know why the other rep said he couldn't upgrade the shipping because he has that capability. My shipping now shows as Priority. He then lowered the price of my iPad to cover the shipping cost. Not sure what any of this means but I'll just hope it means something.
 
OH NOOOO!!! The rep ended up canceling my order in order to lower the price! Now my shipping date changed from March 18-25 to April 20-21! On hold now to see whether they can reverse the cancellation. This is just completely unacceptable.

Oh whew, they restored the original ship date and comped me a power supply. I think I won't be calling Apple CSRs any more until I have my iPad! Thanks for the kind wishes.

Ordered 1:03 am pst. Shipping to Midwest. Also this is #2 of the 2. iPads I ordered.
 
So it seems like a big shipment of the 32GB 3g's from AT&T are going out now. As a representative told me on the phone earlier, my white 64GB 3g AT&T is going to ship tomorrow night. Ordered at 1AM on 3/11. So trying to be patient. :cool:
