When I do have web access, I'm addicted. My fingers just seem to head for the MR trigger automatically...

Yup - it's automatic. Click on Safari, Cmd-2 for the new posts shortcut (yes I'm that sad) and I'm away.

There have been periods of months or so when I haven't posted or even checked, but that was due to being busy at work and not simply having the time to look in. If I have free time though, MR is always the first site I check, so yes, I guess I'm addicted, and no I'm not going to try and give up.

The MR Mafia won't let me;)

I'm the same as Kernow - the only periods I've been away for weeks at a time is due long holidays in regions with not ready to hand internet, work, or upgrading ISP/Mac.
Last time I changed ISP I was away for a month…. MR cold turkey!

Weirdly, I found it quite hard to get back into it after I had been away for a while. All conversations had moved on, new people had joined, others had left. It was a little scary and disorienting for a while.

I find when I'm busy, or away from home I don't really miss it, and don't feel the need to check it. But if I'm at home, or should be doing something boring *cough*packing*cough* I can cheerfully click new posts all day.

So I wouldn't say I've tried to quit, just that I sometimes I feel like I need to get out there in the big wide world, and then do. :)

That wouldn't work. As punishment for thinking of leaving, we would deny your request.

you jerk  joking... please don't ban me, I can't do it cold turkey! You're the best mod... ever!

I'm in complete control over my MR use. Some days I'm just in here for 2 or three hours. I can even go for hours without posting, even when I'm not sleeping...

What's the problem...?

During the summer I tend to be on all day while at work and make a lot of posts and read a lot of threads, when I go home for the day I rarely check MacRumors other than the front page.

Weekends I don't post.

During the school year I don't end up having the time to browse due to all the distractions and whatnot. Also school is a busy place.

Don't post much, but always reading.
I don't even have MR bookmarked. Yet I find myself here everytime I sit down at my computer.

I hate everyone here!!! I'm never talking to anyone again.... for 2 seconds.
....
....
Ok, I'm back!!!

My mama told me to never be a quitter. I blame this addiction entirely on her. ;)

Hell, the only time I don't think about MacRumours is when I'm at MacRumours, which is all the time. Therefore, I never think about MacRumours.

Ok, I'm leaving. I've had enough for today.

I've never actually tried to quit, although I have gone a week or so without posting from time to time. Mainly because I'm out of town without internet access, or some other reason beyond not wanting to be here.

Although on occasion, it's nice to get away.

another forum? You better sneak. unless ofcourse you mean another MR subforum, then - carry on.

I think he meant another forum here on MacRumors, not another forum site.

At least, he better have, or I'l break his kneecaps. :D

Dunno whether to congratulate you or start crying.

You can match iGary's 10000 posts and raise him another 5000. ;)

You and iGary have been here much less time than me, and yet.......I'm trailing the race. It's not a race I want to win, but you seem to be rather keen on winning it. ;)

Where's Lacero?

Only once - during Lent - did I take a huge break from MacRumors...

...since then, though, I don't spend too much time here...;)

Out of the 3 people that admitted to giving up MR for lent - You're the only one to succeed. Congratulations!
