Yup thats it....try to quit and they will come to your house force you to sit down in front of a PC running windows 98 and make you listen to the start up song....then break your legs.

You don't know the half of it - you wouldn't believe what they make you go through when you become a Demi God! Contracts signed in blood, rituals, navigating the MacRumors mine fields...

Just think what it must be for a Moderator! :p :D

I have left before (for like 3 or 4 months?), but yes, I came back. I usually sign on when I am at work--makes the time pass and helps me NOT think of all my problems.

I'm going to try quitting again. I just need to check in for a day or two to see if anyone has replied to my threads/posts, then I'm gone. If it weren't for that though, I'd be gone right now. really.

Leave Macrumors? Yeah, I escaped in my boat a couple of weeks ago after being chased for miles by big white bubbles and haven't been back since.

Be seein' you..;)

Actually, I pretty much quit once per year. Come late August, when I have to head back to school, there just is not time for me to post. But I'll be graduating this December, so once I get a real job early 07, I'll be able to post more regularly.

Gotta say though... I do keep coming back. I mean, sure, I don't have a billion posts like some people here (you know who you are), but I like coming back (it's been almost 6 years!) I could never really quit.:)

I'm glad I'm not the only one. This time I have a goal. I'll logoff tonight, then I won't check MR until September, then I'll check once a day for 10 minutes. This maybe harder than the fat club!

oooooh, I forgot about wwdc. I'll have to come back that week

I am going to try to quit MR because I spend so much time here ... that can't be healthy - can it? So if I give it a rest by not getting involved in threads that I always feel I have to check on or "New Posts" constantly I could spend my time a little better. Then once I've gotten use to not logging on and going right to subscribed threads/new posts, I can check once a day to catch up, leave comments, ask for help, give help or whatever with out the constant New Post obsession.

Actually, re-reading this reply, I sound kind of lame. I do have a life and when I'm not at my computer, I NEVER think about MR but I constantly find myself here when I'm around my computer and once I start checking threads , I seem to stay here for an hour or two. each time. This is no good.

Hello, *stands up as if in a circle of fellow AA members* my name is Dave and I'm a MacRumors user......:D

I have no reason for quitting. OS X and MR are wayy too addictive.

I will try quitting, though in the near future.

MR is my homepage.

So MR is addictive, it is your homepage and you have no plans of quitting, yet in your sig you say "Enough MacRumors" and promote your own site. Which is it? Or do you just enjoy hypocrisy? :p ;) :D

Ah, I see, he's basically just leeching off MR for content and ideas, gotcha... :D

Can arn sue him for that? :p ;)

NO! I get allnews from AppleInsider.

Quit? I always figured this was like a prison gang -- once you're in, that's it.

I wonder how many posts I'd have if the Poli/War forum counted...

"Welcome to the Hotel Macaliforniarumors. You can logout out anytime you like, but you can never leave."

Actually, it's true, since arn never removes former members from the database.

I've tried to escape many times, but Rover always stops me...

Awesome reference! I wonder how many people here actually get that... :p :D They did a parody of that on the Simpsons once and I had to explain the joke to a ton of people...

I got it, having just watched the entire series.

We also use this kind of rover to catch people who try to get away:
