Does it work in landscape mode? How long do I have to wait for getting access to test it. You wrote, that there are some problems provisioning new devices...

Hi - did you create a TestFlight account? If so then you probably haven't registered your device yet, you'll need to do that in order to get the build emails. Just locate the original email you received when you signed up on TestFlight then open it on your iPad and follow the instructions to set up your iPad as a test device. If you run into any problems just let me know.

Thanks!

okay, i did it and now i have to wait getting the access from you?

what about landscape mode? have you added it yet?

thx

so, how long do i have to wait until i get access to the app?

Sorry for the delay. Anyone waiting to beta test should have just received an email to the beta app. Full instructions on how to install in the email.

Cheers!

Two problems I have. The home page doesn't bring anything up only a blank page. The friends button was welcome but only brings me to the relevant friends page in Facebook. This is pointless as I have to relaunch app then. You're on the right track though

Kevin - try removing app and installing from fresh. These builds have changes to the underlying stored datafiles so if you're overwriting it, it may get out of sync.

I've temporarily put the friend URL in there while I research the content needed on the info page. One of the problems I've encountered is that Facebook requires permissions for each and every bit of information for your friends, so for example to get your friend's relationship, hometown, interests etc. requires individual permissions for each bit of info, which is pretty stupid really and is confusing to the user. They should just have "friend info" and be done with it but instead they have over a dozen permissions required to access most of your friend's info.

I've reinstalled from fresh but still get nothing on home page. With regards to the friends issue, I also have facepad installed. That app links up perfectly with friend info within the app. Might be worth having a look?

I have had no problems with the home page showing up, I agree that the friends list needs to then display more information, rather than sending you to the safari webpage. However, these features, enhance the app, the core role of the app as a reader primarily for the news/status feed. What I mean is these features can be added as the app grows

I have no bug reports for the latest release as of yet, I will post if I experience any bugs or crashes

Yeah that's my intention. I have a deadline to get this to the store so as it's going through the approval process I'll be working on the smaller details such as this.

iPhone version is coming along quite nice. Likely will be a Universal app.

Hey,
Landscape mode works like a gem :). However going through friends is quite laggy and slow and when pressing on the letters above to skip to the names, it takes quite a while to load and sometimes crashes.

Hey Mike - looking into it.. Had a bit of a road block in that someone else took the name SlidePad and trademarked it. This is the second time this has happened to me so back to the drawing board as far as names go. I swear every word in the dictionary is now an app. Crazy!

In landscape mode, the homepage still displays "SlidePad" rather than "Frienatic" before the user logins in

Thanks mate, now fixed.

I've been busy converting the app to a universal app and it's almost done. It's worked out pretty good on the iPhone, don't know how useful it is compared to the native Facebook app on that device but certainly is a different way to look at your updates. I'm trying to get as much stuff in before release to the app store but some updates will just have to come in the 1.1 release after since I have a deadline to get this thing submitted.

Coming in 1.1:

Support for camera on both iPhone and iPad 2, including uploading of photos to your wall.
Better album/photo viewing.
Chat.

Stay tuned..

Thanks.

Is there a reason who the live feed page basically only holds a page of info. Would prefer to see the ability to see older posts like other Facebook apps allow. Someone with a high number of friends would struggle with this as threads could quickly disappear

Facebook unfortunately limits the API of your feed (what you see in your recent items on FB.com) to 50 posts or 30 days of posts whichever is greater. The status page however does not have the 50 post limitation, so you should see status updates going back the 30 days or so.

Are you still having the home screen issue? I have not been able to replicate this on my account. Have you had friends post any photos to their wall within the last 30 days? If not this may be the reason why nothing is showing up...

Friends have posted photos regularly in last few days but nothing showing up on home page

I've narrowed down the home page issue. When I hit homepage button nothing shows. If I then tap the blank screen my friends page comes up. Hope this helps

Thanks Kevin. Still very odd though since the home screen has no touch event on it and I'm not able to replicate still. Anyone else having this issue?

Little more info on the issue. Screen is blank and if I swipe screen in either direction, the friends page pops up

Feature Request: Since our iPad is shared by the family ( like I'm sure a lot are ) being able to use the app with multiple Facebook accounts would be awesome. Something like the OSX "Switch User" to quickly flip to another user (with password) would rock!!!!
