Help? iMessage not working

A few hours ago, iMessage randomly stopped working on my iPhone and my Mac (both connected w my phone number). It still lets me send texts but their green. And yes, I did all the hard resets and the on and off tricks. What is going on?

Have you checked if the service is out in your area?

If you send a text to someone who is not using iMessage (Android etc.)
it will show green

My daughter sometimes turns iMessage off--then when I send to her it is green--even though she has an iPhone--if people are getting your text--no prpblem
