We've got an Emoji search on Android Oreo.

One of the things I enjoy most about dumping iOS after 6 years for Android is the attention to the little things, something Apple used to be king of.

Here's hoping with iOS 12, they pull their head out of their a$$e$. While Android Oreo on a Pixel is great, there are certainly some things from iOS I miss. Namely the cohesive experience between Mac, iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

Thanks for the Tipp, very appreciated. Maybe I'm going to use gboard more often.
I prefer swype, but was blown away how well this works. You can even draw-search them 0_o

I legit do not understand the purpose of this many emojis. Even those who use them regularly only use maybe like 20 of the most common so like stop filling with unnecessary garbage and especially stop diversifying the same emoji. Like we don't need 30 skin tones and 4 genders for each emoji.

Still waiting for the Christian emoji. Cross and halo don't cut it.
[doublepost=1518050719][/doublepost]Too bad didn't make emoji as installable modules for iMessage. That way iOS 7,8,9,10 could install them. The only way to do that now is to use WhatsApp, Telegram or other third party chat app. Too many squares in iMessage.

The thing about Apple's business model is they focus on content without defining how widely they define it. They sell hardware and have an annuity for that and that's great. They should curate content more tightly for internal release, increase battery capacity, and improve data throughput.

Just Rocketman.

Yes. Literally every single software engineer at Apple was pulled from the macOS, iOS, Final Cut Pro X, iWork, APFS, Swift, …, and, yes, Messages teams to finally focus on what matters: more emoji.

Yep, I can actually believe they did this, along with hiring 5,000 engineers to figure out how to make the MacBook Pro only .00000005 inches thick.

Cue the people who thinks that the Apple employees who make those are the same persons making the core of the OS, the apps, etc...

If you go to the hospital, do you think the receptionist will be the one doing surgeries?

I really don’t care for the emojis, but for people who do like it, good on them!

I don’t understand the « I don’t like it so it shouldn’t be there » mentality.

Wow more emojis??! How revolutionary! Come on Apple, surprise us with something fresh and innovative. I think we have more than enough emojis. How about working on expanding the touch bar's capabilities?

Do you think the people that design emoji were pulled from the touchbar?

They are getting a bit annoying to sort through. I prefer using a couple of small iMessage sticker packs and GIPHY—much quicker. I have a sticker pack of real dog faces that cover just about every emotion I could want to convey. Dogs are surprisingly expressive.

Still no tears with a smile and I do not mean tears with laughing (there are 2 or 3 of those). So many emoji that will get rare use with next to no meaning and there isn't this one yet.

:,,)

Agreed.

And yet the uptick on an update with emoji tells them people really do care about emoji.

DEFINITELY need a favorites page! I have probably 10-15 I use frequently, and the recently used page gets EXTREMELY EASILY AND QUICKLY messed up. Always having easy access to the same emojis always in the same spot would be amazing.

First page shows your most used emoji so uts like a favorite page in deed.

yes just what we need, who needs stability, security and performance fixes on iOS or Mac os when we can have a Bunch of useless emoji with all kinds of different nonsense, keep it coming baby

How Do I know witch emoji is safe to be used in text messages or whatsapp messaggero with a Android user?
WhatsApp uses a set of emoji very familiar to Apple's. Telegram just uses Apple's on all platforms.

Emoji is a part of Unicode. It is very subjective to determine if a script is useful.
