$1800 for 1600X1400 on a 14inch display? I LOLd

What does that have to do with the price of tea in China. 95% of people utilizing Retina display have no idea what retina resolution actually means. Secondly the majority of people are using some sort of scaled resolution for their rMBP's. And last, 100% of people using rMBP for gaming are doing it with something other then the retina resolution, why because no GPU can drive anything that res with decent FPS.

The price might be high but many people just hate Apple and this is their way of owning something can do the same and more, and still portable. Retina displays are amazing, but is it really required? This laptop will sell, and it will have a cult following just like apple does. 2 different spectrum's of the scale, and I'm sure it will do quite fine.

you do are aware that Ming-Ling Tan the razer CEO loves apple dont you? he is also in charge of the design team.

Was gonna sell my 2013 rMBP, but after these screen shots of the horrible screen. No way. Its too bad.

http://www.techradar.com/reviews/pc...s/14-inch-razer-blade-1155531/review?attr=all

thats because its matte, the flash was directly on the machine.

but not saying that the display aint bad, its probably the display on the 6430u, 9470m, x1c

Yes I do. But I never said anything about him not liking Apple did I. I was referring to the reference of no Retina DISPLAY.. So I'm not sure what you are meaning there.

I still like the aluminum look of the MBP better than black but otherwise this machine is the first PC laptop I've seen that looks as good as a MBP.

And they offer it in 17" size. Maybe its time for a hackintosh.

Ssshhhh ;) I'm very curious to see what a Razer Blade Pro comes equipped with when my AppleCare is up on my 2011 17".

I'll likely be getting one.

Apple's stated they they aren't worried about cannibalizing their own line of products, since if they don't, someone else will.

Come on Apple, bring us back the 17". Razer's doing exactly what you said would happen!

How is the mastering going? Is it tough to get used to?

not tough at all. its annoying to turn off, but learn to use the side menus, that will actually make it a lot pleasant

Yep, change what I said in your first statement, and hold me to what you changed. Hilarious. I always talked about machines WITH DEDICATED GPUs.

I point out Dell to you as a company who's machines with dedicated GPUs shipping with 2Gigs of VRAM, as you asked, and that is not good enough.

3 out of 4 machines under $1000, the other being $1049. All ship with 2Gigs of VRAM - http://www.dell.com/us/p/inspiron-15r-se-7520/pd

Apple is currently selling machines at 1/4 this amount of VRAM. Yes, a refresh is coming within days. But that will put Apple back at it's normal 1/2 the VRAM of pretty much everyone else offering DEDICATED GPUs.

After this, if there is no pleasing you, I shall stop.

The bolded statement is not confirmed, although I am not suggesting Apple will or won't buck the trend.

As for the rest of your post, I'm trying to clarify your claims with context. Before this post, you have not specifically answered my question. You don't seem to be able to read and comprehend the entire post, just a sentence or two. You lose context by doing so.

Anyway, if you bothered to read, I was never against your post's intentions, I just wanted to ask you to clarify your claims.

For "comparable machines", Apple has had a tendency to offer both less RAM and VRAM, than the PC laptops.

Just wanted that said. ;)

So let's see what amount of VRAM the supposed GT 750M will get. And if they offer 2 GB, let's see if that is also an option for the low end MBP.

Gotcha. This was the clarification and context I was getting at.

If Razers mice are anything to go by their build quality is not very good. I've had three razer mice including their top of the line Razer Mamba and all of them have suffered poor engineering.

Let me give you an example.. After about 6 months of use the scroll wheel on the Razer Mamba begins to squeak, not a little squeak either, very loud squeak like a rat squealing out in to the night for its lost kin.

The rubber grips that come on both sides of the mouse for comfort fell off. They were attached with gooey glue which lost its stick.

The battery life is abysmal. It lasts 8 hours on a single charge out of the box. 8 hours. The industry standard for wireless mice battery life is usually three weeks to a month. This mouse doesn't even last a single day. They recently refreshed the Razer Mamba (which is still their top of the line) and said they had improved the battery life. It now lasts 14 hours.

I would never ever ... EVER buy a Razer laptop. They are all about gimmicks and whilst Apple stuff is expensive you get quality. Aluminium body, great battery life, glass trackpads, magsafe and so on. With Razer you pay the same prices but you get drastically lower build quality, plastic, creaking, terrible battery life and generally a real lack of understanding about how the product should be engineered from the get go.

Even in the unveiling video of this laptop their spokesperson couldn't get the OLED trackpad display thing to work on the right of the keyboard properly and was tapping a few times on the same thing before resetting the demo and starting over. I would not trust that company to make me a laptop, no siree!

Not tough, but there are annoying stuff going on. The Metro top that thhey added is not helpfull on a laptop. I think Windows 8 is great on smart phone and tablets even though I am not fond of flat design, but on a laptop with no touch screen it is just too much.

Sorry to get so pissy. Early on I tried to specify laptops WITH discrete GPU. That was only ever my argument. Using that, I believe my claim still stands - Apple gives you about 1/2 of what wintel gives you, even for lower priced and generally lower spec'd machines.

Likewise. Personally, VRAM has not been a deal breaker for me.

For most users not. But it a big sticking point for folks looking to do work and game on their MBPs.

The next logical retort is - "You don't buy MBPs to game." To which the answer is, why can't I have both for $2+K?

Oh my. A 765M??? In something smaller than the RMBP 15"???

According to Notebookcheck at least, it is 2-3 times as fast as my 6750M. If so, I so hope Apple goes for this too. Although I admit, I wouldn't have expected it to be THAT much faster. I would have guessed more the 1.6-2 times as fast.

If Apple does stick one of these in a 15" RMBP, I may have to buy one. If Apple puts this in a 17" RMBP, I may have to explode with geeky ecstasy. :p

P.S. Apple, I don't care how much it costs. Get it DONE!!! (Please?)

you can see the empty msata slot in there for you to possibly insert another ssd

Who's got the shared third heatpipe (on the left in the picture)? I'm thinking GPU....

that should be a correct guess, I like the name of the battery, betty

given that apple will go on with that nonsense of smaller tdp non quad cpus for the rmbp 13, I will probably buy the blade next year with maxwell

apparently they are selling it very well, they are through and through out of stock

All indications I've found is that they are. I'm sure loads of Apple haters are snagging them, as they get the form factor without having to 'buy an Apple'.

Personally, I'm interested in the 17" Blade Pro when my AppleCare runs out (unless Apple smartens up!)

yeah something like that, I dont get bothered with people that have a prejudice based on nothing

so see ya in the razer camp, 17" is probably not going to happen
