Good news is this is the cheapest MacBook they've ever made.

Seriously though, the price is absolutely absurd. You can get a absolute volume of a comic for cheaper than this.

Picked mine up from the Union Square SF store today. I got the bigger version and the pages are so heavy and thick, it's a very pleasant book.

Not for everyone but if you've got the funds and you're into this sort of thing, why not?

The numbers don't add up to me. They started designing the book 8 years ago. The book covers 17 years. You're telling me they started designing it halfway into finishing the stuff that is depicted?

Since you bought this book I guess it's safe to assume that you'd buy anything that's from Apple. Apple really needs customers like yourself otherwise they'd gone bankrupt a while ago.

WTH is it to you buddy, get a life and stop whining about how someone else spends their money.

Fair enough, but because of dedicated customers like this is part responsible for why Apple products getting worse every year. And I don't like it.

They developed their own inks and commissioned custom paper designs for the book to more carefully represent the real-world colours of the products and in particular show 'whites' (white product on white page) more accurately. This book isn't for everyone, but I guarantee those here who are not buying it are the ones complaining. Such is adolescence.
That's like saying the ones who don't like the food aren't eating it. What's your point?
I like Apple products as much as the next guy but this sounds crap.
I'd rather have a book from Ferrari about their designs and the proceeds and prototypes that led to them and I don't even like Ferraris. Just seems there'd be more substance.

That everyone is somehow not ok with Kim Kardashian. But you are wrong about both of those things too.
Book's a rip off. Would have been closer to being worth it if they'd explained the design choices behind the products within, (I'd be especially interested to hear about the mouse, pencil and phone case pictured earlier).

It's an ART BOOK.

You don't own any, do you? A 450-page book of this sort is not cheap to create or manufacture.

It has nothing to do with the quality of their hardware. It's a BOOK.

You guys are hilarious. Apple makes a book and suddenly it's art and it's the best quality book ever made. They could design a salt shaker and sell it for $500 and you guys would argue about how innovative it is and how the quality justifies the price. Oh ya and don't forget to point out since you have the funds, that somehow explains and justifies your silly Apple fetish.
