I would buy this for £5 - £10 in a discount bookstore in a heartbeat, looks nice.

I'd think about it at £20 - £30.

at £249 though... nah, you're alright, Apple.

I hope those prepared to pay it enjoy it though.

Eh... art books are usually expensive. Apple stuff is more expensive than most other stuff. Ergo, Apple Art book is...

Well, it follows. I bought one. It's only money and I am a sucker for art books.

They developed their own inks and commissioned custom paper designs for the book to more carefully represent the real-world colours of the products and in particular show 'whites' (white product on white page) more accurately.

Apple is a tech company.

If they were really cool, they'd have released this on the iPad and Mac, with color correction etc.

This is living room table stuff to make Ive feel good. I think he's jealous of Marc Newson, who had designed watches, watchbands, cars, furniture, you name it. I think that's why Apple did the Watch and its bands, has worked on a car, and did custom tables for the new HQ.

Newson even has a $1,000 design book on Taschen.

Just look at whatever Newson has done, and I bet Ive will do one too :)

Go on to google images, Dowload Apple images, create your own book ( online if necessary), dedicate one page to Steve jobs. Use $50 for printing costs.. save yourself $150!

Just listen to the weight of the paper.

This is like comparing a high school kid turning in an resume on cheap recycled paper vs someone who is using 32lb paper for a business proposal.

Some people take things too seriously!

That paper is way too heavy for apple... just imagine if they designed laptops in such a way...

Just listen to the weight of the paper.

Well, at least now I know what Apple was spending its time on designing instead of updating the iMac, Mac Pro, and Mac Mini. Apparently, they had just if design hours left over to devote to the biggest money makers, the MacBook Pro and iPhone.
Thanks Apple.
Can you please address your other hardware lines now.
Please:(

You clearly don't use maps. Has worked well even for delivery drivers for some time now. The latest version borders on perfection
Perfection? LOLOLOLOLOL. You are right, I don't use it because it is bad. Half of my daughter's soccer team couldn't find a soccer field for a game guess what they all had in common? Yep, another apple map fail. The half that did arrive without issue used google maps or waze. We have instructed the team to never use apple maps. Glad it is perfection for you though

Regarding the price, I really really wish that MacRumous would not just automatically assume everybody thinks in US dollars. Sure, USD may be the global, universal currency, but we're not all Americans. Just say "$200 US Dollars" instead of simply "$200". It's not $200 for the rest of us.

Curious about the specifications. It would appear that this product can only display two pages at a time in high resolution mode. Must be old technology. :p
