Not even remotely true for me.That’s the whole selling point of Apple - the ecosystem.
My issue with Apple is that from owning a Samsung and a Pixel I’ve had superior zoom photo capability for two generations now on Android (S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, Pixel 6 Pro) Samsung’s first extreme zoom effort was indeed hot garbage but last year and this year have been stellar. Pixel 6 Pro has also been fantastic. If Google and Pixel can do this so well this year, I don’t know why IPhone 13 Pros were lacking in the zoom other than Apple chose to emphasize their video capability.I agree, it’s the evolution of technology. It’s how it works.
But your post aimed that Apple wouldn’t have any good ideas without Samsung. Therefore they have to copy the ideas.
I’m saying Apple isn’t in a rush to be first. They take notes, refine and the implement what they want when it’s right for them. You say “copy” and I say a well worth wait for something that ends up being above the rest (Face ID for example) in quality.
I’ve owned BOTH and liked BOTH. I think they BOTH need to exist. 👊😁👍
Even without the ecosystem I think I would stay with Apple. Customer service is iffy in the USA for Android phones. And the marketing is definitely more “in your face” on a Samsung phone. They’ve got a heavy marketing ecosystem going with lots of partners. I can shut it down but it’s a little bit of extra effort. Also my iPhones have been more rugged than my Androids. Samsung and Google love those curved edge displays that are hard to protect.I often wonder if that’s the consensus of most folks on here. If Apple didn’t tie us in to the ecosystem and make it doubly hard to leave, I wonder how many would switch.
I completely agree. Apple needs to step up their zoom game 😁 Both sides need work. I started on Android and was back and forth for years. There’s features I love one each platform. I prefer iOS for relatively better security and privacy and keeping compatible with friends and family, but I have been wishing Apple would have kept its zoom game on a par with Samsung. So I could get shots like this with an iPhone (file size reduced for the forum). I took this freehand, no tripod on the S22 Ultra. And of course the S22 Ultra has the built in S Pen, which is a useless gimmick for many people but has been an immense convenience for me. I wish iPhones had something similar, at least the Pro Max. My S22 Ultra is also light in comparison to a Pro Max and has no ugly camera bump. Also Apple has released features that weren’t really refined before. So I no longer believe features are held back to be perfected.
I’m not dissing iPhones at all. If I could have only one, it would be an iPhone. Overall I’m happy with the ecosystem. View attachment 2041839
Heh, then I'm clearly doing it wrong, as all I'm interested in is an iPad for some gamesPersonally, it doesn't seem like any smartphone comparison is complete without also acknowledging that any Apple product benefits from the full weight of the Apple ecosystem. Just based on that alone, the galaxy fold would be considered a hard sell compared to even the cheapest iPhone in Apple's lineup. 😛
Eh.. it's been done. Just try out Windows and Android. Migrate things over. Unless you're a "creative type", you can find most of what you need on Windows (probably for cheaper). Some of Apple's privacy stuff is nice, but make sure that it's really a concern. I've seen too many people use a MacBook, but then spend 1 an hour on day using Facebook, and use a suite of Google products anyways. Whenever I ask why people use iOS or Android, the reasons we cite on these tech sites don't always come into play. They do so b/c "my [acquaintance] suggested an iphone", or they just like how Android or iOS works. They couldn't care less about the ecosystem, privacy, choice of hardware, customization options, etc.Yeah I’m here too. I truly do appreciate Samsung trying something different but Apple has me locked in. I’m not even sure how I could get away from it. Sucks because seems hardware innovation is happening elsewhere but I can’t leave lol.
No different than "Apple". Some common fruit.A silly name 'Android'.
And a weak OS on superior hardware. A shame.
Ok…..The biggest difference is that Samsung runs Android.....and thus it will never be an option for me!! I do not trust Google whatsoever!!
I prefer Android and Windows, but I absolutely do NOT want monopolies. It would've been better to have a 3rd player, but that's not feasible in tech. You can bet if Apple's the only player in town, they'll make Microsoft look tame in comparison.I’ve owned BOTH and liked BOTH. I think they BOTH need to exist. 👊😁👍
The "ecosystem" argument is really weak. That's the first thing people say to avoid the question.Heh, then I'm clearly doing it wrong, as all I'm interested in is an iPad for some games

I mean there are things like purchased apps that won’t transfer, iMessage, syncing apps across iPad and iPhone ectThe "ecosystem" argument is really weak. That's the first thing people say to avoid the question.
Google Photos: Runs on both, better than iCloud Photos
Google Drive: Same on both
Apple Music: Runs on both
Apple iCloud Mail & GMail: Works on both
In 2022 you don't need to be locked into the eCoSyStEm. It's a weak argument for people that won't just say I don't like anything not Apple. I have everything I need spanned across Mac, iOS, Android, & ChromeOS. I find this works nice and lets me take advantage of other products and tools.
I often wonder if that’s the consensus of most folks on here. If Apple didn’t tie us in to the ecosystem and make it doubly hard to leave, I wonder how many would switch.
yeah, asked the same thing about an hour earlierWasn’t the iPhone 14 pro rumoured to have promotion down to 1hz to enable the always on display? Shouldn’t that be mentioned under the screen technology section?
iPhone 13 pro doesn't cost more than $1 per gigabyte to expand internal storage...Neither have an SD card, nor a headphone jack, so they can both flop for all I care. I'm sick of phones that cost more than twice what they used to, yet still expect their users to pay more than $1 per gigabyte to expand their internal storage when storage costs less than $.10 per GB.
What a stupid post. You mean show Apple how not to do things over a 4-5 year period while Apple refines similar features before releasing it.
Couldn’t agree more. Keep it up, Sammy.
I value your opinionWhat a stupid post.
Apple won't do something perfectly from day one. Nobody does.
I'd rather have the option to buy/use a feature that was improved over time than not at all.
Ya, it's not 100% simple. But it isn't impossible or as big of a deal for average Joe iPhone.I mean there are things like purchased apps that won’t transfer, iMessage, syncing apps across iPad and iPhone ect
