Why do I get nervous about downing the latest iOS on an older device (8-plus) and fear it will ruin/slow down an otherwise good, stable iOS 12.4.1 it is currently rocking.
Runs fine on iPad Air 2 which is A8X. Your 8 Plus is A11 which is MUCH faster, and it also has 50% more RAM, with a smaller screen to drive.

Surprised, although not unexpected, that it is waiting until 10AM Pacific time. Strikes me that releasing to all at the same time puts a huge load on their servers. If released earlier then maybe before some get up etc. I would think it would stretch out server loads but Apple is Apple

IIRC, Apple uses third party servers. They are designed to handle this type of traffic. You may get some slowdowns at the initial release crunch but often even at these initial release times it is often quite speedy.
My main concern is bugs. Most of the bugs are in third party software though so it will depend on how soon those apps are updated. Some get updated immediately while others take their time.
I had the beta on my iPad Pro, the GM rolled out this morning. Excited to get this on my phone finally (never put a beta on a device you rely on).
Has anyone who has 14 loaded on their phones had any issues switching from the cellular network to WiFi calling while on an active call? With my X on 13 (all versions of 13) my phone won't connect to the WiFi calling while I am on a call. I have pretty poor reception in the condo building I live in and need WiFi calling. If I am on the phone when I enter my unit, it won't switch to the WiFi calling until I complete the call and my reception bars will show 1 at best. Sometimes a dropped call.

I have been waiting for this feature to come to iOS, it's great in Android as you can just set AdGuard DNS and get systemwide ad blocking even on mobile data without having to connect to a VPN.
Where do I go to enable it? I have an iPhone with the iOS 14 GM right here but cannot find the setting for a universal DNS change, nor any mention of encrypted DNS.
I'm guessing it's DoT like Android?

Anyway, the main entrance for illegal drugs in Europe is in Spain (Tarifa and Galicia from South America, cultural sinergies I guess).
Does that create any problem? Sorry to ask very stupid question but I've always been that man who waits until it's released and download it in 78 hours because of server problem.😂 So if I just download GM version now what do I do to make it out from Beta or how does that process go? Really want to try iOS 14 asap.
