On the side that defends them slightly, when MS does put out a new Mac product, they tend to spend a lot of effort in making it look and feel like a Mac application, vs. the approach Apple takes, where they essentially got a lot of their APIs running in Windows and can compile and offer the Windows versions of their products (iTunes, Safari, and QT) simultaneously or nearly so, but make no effort at all to make them look or act like Windows programs.
On the less defensive side, MS also have a lack of caring.
I would be curious to hear about how the video chat is working? Is it a full AV chatting modality, or is it the old webcam video+text without audio?
well....seeing as though microsoft cant even get the current MSN right, i highly doubt that this one for mac will be even good at all...if not pathetic.
im just waiting till Adium gets video/audio chat up for both aim and msn messenger in the future soon. so i can talk with the family and friends far far away

its a slow as it ever was in the previous versions

Which is why its called beta...
and primary reason I don't use beta applications much, specially from MS.
Don't get smart... I understand, and did I complain? No... I just pointed something out.
i have used many a beta applications before. adium was in beta mode for years!!! worked perfectly for me. i use this and BAM!! worst thing ever
Well... It didn't crashed for me at least.... It was using alot of CPU, but I was able to use the camera without problem and talk with friends...

to be honest, it's not like a quick google won't find it, links need never be posted as google is so good at it's job.
EDIT: It appears there's some kind of language bug that I've got, everything displays like this:
Could be Safari 4? No amounts of restarts has fixed it.
