constant errors when messaing people, tones of crashing, can't send files, display pictures broken

I'll stick with version 7 ta

At this point, I'm convinced that nobody in the mac division at MSFT actually knows how to develop for the mac.

the reason its late according to wikipedia is

"Webcam and audio support has been delayed due to Windows Live Messenger's webcam and audio engine being reworked, which meant that the Mac version had to wait until this was complete in order for both platform releases to function correctly."

It's Available!!!!!!!!

Ok so go to the regular microsoft mac web site. HERE Then you will see it on the bottom "microsoft messenger beta with A/V is here"

I JUST DOWNLOADED IT. I don't know since when it was available BUT it is. So far i have not had a change to use it.

Good luck all

There were rumors of Microsoft buying out AOL, if so, maybe they'd integrate AIM with WLM and thus would have iChat support maybe?

Only to see the Interface, I get sick. Maybe MIcrosoft is a dreamer and they are still dreaming that not providing a (at least) a decent MS Messenger to us, Mac users, we will go back just to have the pleasure of using (in my opinion) the best MSN application in the market - their Windows Live that is always getting better and better for the Windows users.
I say WAKE UP you m****f**** that is never going to happen. I will continue to use ebuddy app on my iPhone, no msn app on my mac (the bright side is that I have no interruptions while I'm working, after all I end up wining loollol

Can you elaborate a bit?

Hasn't crashed yet like the public BETA, webcam works nicely, looks pretty (more like Windows Live).

The rest of the Office 2011 suite is also a great improvement in terms of UI and speed, as for crash resistance I'll have to use it abit more.

Put it this way, i'm sufficiently impressed to actually go out and buy it at launch :) (Which I wasn't with the 2008 version - thankfully someone gave it to me for free as he couldn't live with it!)

Still no offline msg option tho, right? :(

I cannot believe we've heard nothing on this.

Check Office 2011:

I have MS messenger which comes with the final release of office 2011. Still no offline messages. How hard can it be to include offline messages?

Yeah, it's really disappointing... Messenger is the least improved app in the Office suite.

Also, does importing Custom Emoticons work for you? It won't recognize mine.
