If I upgrade, it’ll be for the 14 Plus since it weighs less than the 13 Pro. the Max is too bulky.

In Sweden the 14 Pro costs 1500 dollars (14995 kr) we do have a 25% tax, but that is a HUGE price increase!! When 13 Pro came it costed 1230 dollars (12290 kr)

So 999 dollars went to 1230 dollars before
now 999 dollars is 1500 dollars! :D yay!

The US Dollar is also strengthening compared to other currencies, which is why the overseas prices jump. Sony did the same thing recently with the PS5 by hiking the price outside the US.

No the only reason Sony didn’t increase the PS5 price in the US was due to Xbox being a very strong competitor there, theyn increased the games prices in the US the same as everywhere else.

Apple knows their user base gererally aren't the ones worried about rising food and fuel costs.

Sorry you are wrong, people earning 50K are facing energy price increase of over 200% just like anyone else. Plus food plus other bills etc etc etc, everything has gone U.K. but wages have not. Do you think their are tens of millions of millionaires out there buying iPhones?

Never mind the colours - there's been an effective UK price increase for all iPhones - not just the 14.

You'd have expected mid spec phones to drop £100 but that hasn't been the case this time - it's just a £30 drop for 12 and 13 models while the SE 2020 has had a straight up price increase because it hasn't moved in the lineup - the iPhone 11 has been discontinued.

iPhone SE 2022 64Gb (Launch Price £419, Post iPhone 14 Price £449) [Still $429]
iPhone 12 64Gb (2021 Price £679, Post iPhone 14 Price £649) [now $599]
iPhone 13 Mini 128Gb (Launch Price £679, Post iPhone 14 Price £649) [now $599]
iPhone 13 128Gb (Launch Price £779, Post iPhone 14 Price £749) [now $699]

The iPhone 14 128Gb costs from £849, which is an £80 increase on the iPhone 13 launch price.
The iPhone 14 Pro 128Gb costs from £1099, which is a staggering £150 increase on the iPhone 13 Pro launch price.

The 14 Pro getting a price increase was expected but look at what's happened to UK prices and coincidentally a BBC story says the £ is now the lowest it's been against the $ since 1985.

As Doc Brown would say: "Great Scott!"

I was thinking of getting a 14 Pro to replace my 12 Pro, but I'll pass until next year. Disappointed in the obsolete port...

Sure, it's not the biggest problem in the world, but it annoyed me just last week when I had little power left. USB C cables are ubiquitous - plenty of the at work, including the charger I use for my MBP. Didn't bring a cable for the phone.

No must have features, and next year's version will have incremental improvements on this one.

So when they don't take a loss in sales, will you admit I wasn't the one not living in reality?

Well considering Apple do not post iPhone sales figures then of course they won’t post a loss. They only post financial results. But I am fairly confident they will lose iPhone sales, yet with a price increase globally outside the US seemingly, then of course it’ll post more profits, they’ve put all their prices up.

You don't need to convince me that there are many people that are feeling the pressure of increasing cost of living. I'm one of those people. But those people aren't who Apple markets their phones to. Apple has always marketed themselves as a premium luxury brand. It infuriates me at times because I see the nonsense of charging people exorbitant amounts of money for base models that shouldn't be sold, and high prices for upgrades that should be on a $1000 phone to begin with. The reality is though that Apple prices their phones the way they do because apparently the majority of their user base is financially stable enough to not care about the prices. You said this high price will impact sales. I disagree. Apple always seems to find the courage to raise prices, and to date they appear to continuously hit record sales.
